Debatable topics
So i have to find an interesting topic that most teens would find debatable in a school environment. In other words, what are some things teens are upset about or have opposing feelings about that can be debated about in a classroom. Thanks in advance!

Puppies vs. Kittens
Baby sheep vs. baby goats
Whether or not ducks are satanic hellbeasts bent on destroying everything we hold dear

Start the school day earlier/later
less/no homework
shorter/longer school days
yes/no phones in class
We did these topics in a "debate" during high school, although it was more for fun than anything else:
Whether athletes should be given homework
Whether affirmative action should still be used or not
Whether automatic admission (like guaranteed admission for top 10% or whatever) should be in affect
Should every student know their ranking or just the top 2?
Apple vs. Android
Gun control
Texas passed some bill a couple years ago (don't remember the name) that let middle school students pick a degree plan based on what they want to major in during college. Concern whether or not this was too early for students to decide their future and the pros/consequences of it.
My senior English teacher was concerned that students don't know the life story of their fellow classmates. It led to a discussion on how people in AP/honors classes don't (generally) get much of a chance to interact with people who aren't in those classes.
Hope that helps!
The failures of the modern education system. People are being trained to pass tests, not to be intelligent. They are passed along an academic pipeline rather than actively pursuing a field of study. College degrees have deflated in value because so many people are going through college thoughtlessly as a default, unquestioned path in life.

does social media have a negative effect on the youth?
do violent video games induce violent behaviour?
should two diseased couple be able to reproduce (their child will 100% be disabled in some way)?
@burning: good now we're the only ones. Let's get married.

I don't disagree with that. I ate cafeteria food too and also didn't mind the quality.

If is racist
If gun laws need to be more restricted
And tons more, but those are the raging topics right now
School food.
It's something everyone of your classmates can get into. The discussion at least covers nutrition and economics and can easily reach into politics and corporate ethics (I'm looking at you Aramark.)

School Uniform, Lunch food, Homework, Absence, Tests, are some that can be debatable in a school.
