Judge Rules Against Nintendo
A UK judge has stated that Nintendo has infringed on patents from Phillips due to Wii products and their motion sensing control scheme. Phillips has also sued Nintendo in three other countries, one of which is the U.S. In addition, they plan stopping all Wii and Wii U sales while the case is going through court.
Kind of damaging for Nintendo...

If I remember correctly, someone tried to sue Nintendo over the stereoscopic 3D in the 3DS.
OT: I dont really think Nintendo will be hurting after this, since they have enough money to last.
Nintendo has too much money to give a crap about a simple sue, unless they're running low on money then.. Gg nintendo
Oh look, another corporation attempting to abuse patent laws to make a quick profit. Nintendo has no reason to follow an obscure patent filed for the sole purpose of taking advantage of the success of others. The technology used in the Wii and Wii-U are completely different from what Philips has anyways.
Patent laws really need to be changed so companies like Philips can't abuse them. Nintendo shouldn't have to spend time in court dealing with this nonsense.
Nintendo will be fine... right...?
Phillips is just jealous that they're irrelevant
how about their super-gay parental controls and language filter? rule against that plz
Setting aside the obvious, I have had A few nintendo consoles in the past, but yes, no one wants to blame nintendo.
This is kind of dumb what are they suing over exactly? Motion sensor technology? I am sure that has existed for quite a while before the wii was out. You know when a company is becoming desperate when they are suing over things from a long time ago rather than actually making better products.
Someone on yahoo mentioned that patents are supposed to be used to sue over competitors. Come to think of it I have never seen motion sensor technology in video games like the Wii's before it was out and neither have I seen technology well after the wii was out. There was the playstation camera but that was not the same as the wii. Man I hope nintendo doesnt lose this is bullcrap.Nintendo has been making video game history its entire life with the rotating camera in mario 64, Z-targetting in Zelda, motion sensors, eyeglassless 3D handheld, the other guys are just jealous.
Talk about internationally taking advantage of the boundaries of the law.. Corporate scumbags.. I hope the CEO/ CIO/ CFO of Phillips die a slow painful death..
This is stupid, the wii has been out since 2006. Why are they trying to sue 8 years later? And it sounds like they didn't even get the patent until 3 years after the wii came out. I would've refused to pay phillips too lol.
Too many nintendo fanboys raging against Philips btw ...
..Obviously?
You would be too if your favorite gaming company got sued and has a company trying to ban their console. Doesn't take a genius to know fanboys would rage at Philips.

Well unlike you some of us like the Wii U. I wanted it for the better games coming out.
Too many nintendo fanboys raging against Philips btw ...
Is there any level of depravity Phillips wont stoop to? Like come on they must be actively trying to be the most hated company at this point.
They wont win anyway
Phillips doesn't make vidya, so screw them.
Aahhh.. Nintendo sued up ... I feel sad ... for them ..
