Books Vs eBooks

For those of you who actually read for fun (Gasp! Yes for fun!), how do you prefer to read a book? The hard physical copy or an eBook? Me? I like the actual book. I like feeling the book and turning the pages etc. The screen on my phone or kindle hurts my eyes and it gets annoying when sometimes the screen acts derpy and you lose your spot.

If you're an avid reader, I highly recommend trying out an ebook reader that uses e-ink and not LCD on a phone/tablet. It'll be very hard to go to back to physical books.

The e-ink display makes all the difference. It isn't eye straining like LCD. You can potentially read for hours like you would have with a physical book.
Rarely needs charging. Battery life is about a month.
If there's a word I'm unfamiliar with, I can get the definition instantly by touching the word.
It's more comfortable to hold for long reading sessions.

If I needed to use a textbook however, I'd prefer a physical book because you can flip through the pages and find what you need more easily.

The only purpose of ebooks is for school text that the professors want you to bring to class every session.
Love the aroma of that newspaperlike recycled paper smell from real books.

Physical copies all the way. I hate reading on a screen and I get a kick out of using cute bookmarks and seeing the progress I make.

I prefer eBook because I don't need lights to read. Also because I can find more comfortable positions when I'm holding an iPod

The whole point of reading for me is to get away from the computer/tv and to do something productive, I'd hate to read on a screen, I prefer books. Unless I'm reading a journal article or something online.

I don't like e-books. I absolutely hate studying/reading a huge wall of text on screen. Even if it's just a page of text but it's something important, i'd rather print it out and then look at it. I like the ability to take notes while reading so yah paper ftw. c:
Mmm. My textbooks are soo expensive though, but I still buy 'em anyway.
I like being able to flip through the pages and hold it physically; makes me focus. Ouiiiii~

I prefer the physical book, rather than e-books. I only resort to using e-books for school, so long as the professor for the course allows it. E-books are generally much cheaper than the actual physical copies, so they're ideal for any higher education student. The only cons to e-books, in my opinion, is that you can get sidetracked and lose concentration when you're on the computer or tablet.

I generally prefer physical copies, but e-books serve a (very much) needed purpose. Having to carry around hard copies of the types of books I like/need to read on a daily basis would be an absolute nuisance.

Scrolls, I suppose?

I prefer a physical copy of the book, not much for staring at my computer screen to read a book or listening to an audio book.

definitely a physical book. i don't know, there's this satisfaction you get from flipping through the pages, and the cover is usually very nice, too!
though e-books are more convenient, and you can easily look up words you don't know, read in low light conditions and some devices don't give eye strain (kindle)
they're also significantly cheaper as well compared to physical copies.

Well if we're gonna get specific.
Less than or equal to reading a book eye strain level.
Anything the eyes focus on causes eye strain.
Most causes of excessive electronic eye strain is from an improperly adjusted device.
Set properly, it's equal to a text book.

If it's a book that I've been hyped on and waited ages for it to be released then I'd prefer the actual hardcover/paperback. Other than that, ebook it is.

I prefer physical books, but ebooks are just so convenient that I usually read off my iPad. It's nice because the lights can be off and I can still easily read (I don't really like book lights), and I can have like a whole library of books on it.

ebooks are probably cheaper but I don't own a kindle or portable book reading device of any kind and even then reading a screen is wholly unenjoyable

Whenever I want to read for fun, I always buy the physical copy because it's fascinating for me. I get too distracted whenever I read books online for some reason. But for college I buy the books I need digitally cause it's more cheaper.

If I can't get a physical copy of the book cause I'm too lazy to go to the library and I don't wanna buy it, I get it for free online and read it on my phone.
But I haven't done that since I read Harry Potter last fall.

I haven't felt like reading for enjoyment much at all in the past year...
