Reboot question

Why is that server so fun and better than the regular ones? Is it really worth it to give up on years of progression just to start a new?

Well, all I can say is that I have a decently funded NL in Bera, and I tried out Reboot just to see what all the hype is about, and I'm now maining Reboot, haven't touched my NL since the server was released. It's incredibly fun and social, and I love being on an equal playing field as far as upgrading opertunities go. (Except the "glitch" where people got fafnir weps from hot time boxes...cmon nexon you' slippen').

@Sanergy @pacifist I posted this in another thread, but basically this

Basically going back to Windia and seeing my old cannonshooter at 37k range I realized if my character was weak it was staying that way no matter how hard I worked for it. In Reboot my Thunder Breaker has a 310k range at 164, because I've been playing him non-stop up until Kinesis, and worked for my 140 set to get all pieces 3 lined. Worked for my cubes. Farmed mesos to get everything 12-13 starred. I worked for it and I got it. You can't do that in Windia

@miel12 it's kind of the same with normal servers too though. Personally not a fan of the reboot server but I think it's a good addition to the game, as even if it brought in a few new players, I think Maplestory needs it. The you don't have to use real money argument for reboot doesn't make since because honestly if you put a little effort in regular MS you'll have a decent range, but Tl'dr Both servers have their own perks that make them fun.

Reboot is so much better than the other servers (you dont have to use real money to be good), and at this point Nexon should implement the elements that make Reboot different into all worlds.

I personally like way more the normal servers over reboot and the reason why i do is because I think of reboot as a temporary thing, yeah you can get funded easy, but once you get funded enough and kill for the first or second time for example CRA, there's going to be no point on keep upgrading your gear, no point on killing bosses since you cant do anything with their drops, so in about 1 month every single person who started in reboot will be just lvling up (something you can do in the normal servers even with little to no funding) and that's it because there'll be no point on doing anything else. And as people already stated before me, its WAY TOO EASY to get funded in reboot so the game just lost it whole point. Everyone complains about how hard it is to get funded in Normal servers but they miss the poiint that it's a MMORPG which is meant to take time to achive something and I at least feel more a sense of acomplishment and fulfillment when i get something to legendary in a normal server (without spending nx) than I'd do in Reboot world.

@pacifist:

When I do daily bosses, I can sell drops for a good 5m. And cubes are only 7m. So without star planet and the minimum amount of daily bosses, I can get so much more that I can't buy from cash shop from reboot. In the real servers, for the amount of time and money I put into my characters I don't get a good returns to scale

@markred626: You're right of course, but its still a pain to do in the normal servers. In reboot, it's easier to fund yourself but its also simpler. All you need to do is loot items and sell them. You don't need to have some elaborate meso-making strategy, you just have to play the game and you will make mesos as you go. You don't need to buy NX from some shady noob to get your hands on cubes, you can just go into the cash shop and buy it yourself, for free.

The other thing is that even though you CAN fund yourself in a normal server, whats the point if barely anyone else is doing it? This is how it feels from my perspective when I don't spend NX on the normal server: Miracle time comes around, I use those cubes that I FINALLY saved up enough reward points to buy, I get 1 item to legendary, and I'm like YESS!!!! Meanwhile, some random guy spends $300 on cubes, $100 on smegas, and proceeds to rant over smega about how he only got 7 legendary items
with 21% stat. Then I just feel like there is absolutely no point....and there isn't.

Basically, its super populated and people enjoy that.
1. Bosses are "harder" (more hp) and people are abit weaker so they team up to take them down making it more of a social game then just soloing
2. Its an even play field now. No more paying big bucks to be better, you need to work for it by questing/grinding for mesos so everyone , pay or no pay, can be good.
3. Again the population just gives a really good feeling about maple. The simplicty is also an awsome aspect. Only pot and emhancements makes it easier to manage.

I picked reboot but then again its up to your playing style
Edit: @markred626 i just noticed i said the same thing xD "even play field" your right man.

@markred626: Either way you are spending time. It is a game. How else would you have got funded? And no for someone starting out it is almost impossible to get funded with out $. There are the few who are able to get decent funds with no $.

It is 10000x easier in the reboot world. Anyways its not always about damage either. The fact is reboot will force people to party for higher level bosses. Something that has become almost unnecessary in other servers. Almost near impossible if you are poor because who wants to have a low DPM producing person in their party? Nobody.

Basically its an even playing field now. People who are funded never understand that or hate it.

@dragonbandit i haven't spend a single $ on this game and i've around 1.1m buffed, yeah you can get funded but it's not something you will do as easy as you cando with $ but sure you can get funded enough in non reboots worlds, other thing people is impatient and just decide to spend $ to get funded easily, and also you guys don't spend $ but spend time, and time=$ so idk

@pacifist: Because everything that you guys pay $$ we get for free now. It just requires playing. Some of us dont want to spend lots of $$. Then there is the fact that it brings it back to free to play like it used to. Instead of pay to win.

@tokitoki: same didn't want to spend money on cubes either.. its just too expensive! nexon doesn't realize that not everyone lives in america but they charge everything in USD.. 11 black cubes for nearly 30k NX? they may charge $30 USD for that amount but in canada that cost nearly $50! and 11 cubes surely aint enough to tier up one piece of equipment.. its totally not worth it playing on the regular servers at all

with $50 i could buy a way better game on steam, that comes with a bundle of other stuff that would last waaaaaaaaay longer than those 11 black cubes.. i think nexon should overlook their cash shop prices, they've already dropped the prices on some stuff like the hair & eye slot expansions.. they need to do the same for many other things in cash shop too

Tbh I didn't accomplish much in the 10 years I've been playing. I didn't wanna spend a ton of cash on this game for cubes, and the people were horrible so I pretty much had nowhere to go on the normal server.

I've been in Scania since the beginning so I kinda prefer the bigger population.
