Hello me again. It's been a long hard road teaching myself how to draw >.< Online artists are pretty selfish, many refuse to reveal their techniques and then criticize others harshly, making it a struggle for beginners. I have seen some basil screens so I think I will give some tips to beginners.
Please do not colour using the same colours, as in do not colour a yellow shirt with dark yellow, use dark orange instead. You can copy my screen and check the difference between the base colour and the shade using eye-dropper tool in Paint, paint tool sai or photoshop.
For lineart, I start with sketching a human skeleton/ mannequin. In this stage, I focus on the anatomy. Then I sketch on the clothes, hair and all the details on another layer. Again this stage, focus on anatomy but also smaller details. Finally, I use vector layer for lineart. Try to be neat as possible with hair.

I do must agree with you, some people just are too scared that you will get better than them.
I am also a self taught artist, but im a trad artist, and there arnt many trad artists on basil =n=.
anyhow, nice screenie, she does in fact look like cotton candy ^--^ (in a good way)

Wow, I can definitely see the improvement you've made. The coloring is gorgeous, it has such a vibrant feel to it. Your anatomy has improved very much too. <3 Although I think the only little error is the pinky on her left hand, which seems to be a tad too long. But the picture overall is fantastically adorable.
