It's not that humans are unable to "truly" understand each other. It's whether or not we are capable of putting aside differences to work together for the betterment of mankind.
However, with that being said, it's important to keep in mind that this is impossible to achieve because humans are inherently wired with a wide array of emotions and thought processes which inevitably results in conflict.
