I was planning on getting the XL anyways so I'm fine with this. The only thing that I'm annoyed about is that the Majora's Mask 3DS doesn't come with the game like the Monster Hunter one.
I already a 3ds xl but i wouldnt mind having a spare small new one just so i can bring with me and also the face plate is the appeal that push me to get it since, i dont play or rarely will use the 3ds mode
i prefer the regular 3ds of the XL. I mean i didnt plan on buying one but not the option between the 2 was a real let down.

Transparent silicone case ftw.

The New 3DS is compatible with all 3DS games. But it has its own exclusives that won't work on the older 3DS systems (Xenoblade 3D).

It may be gross, but I see absolutely no problem with Nintendo determining they would make a smaller profit if they made all options of the N3ds available; thus choosing not to. They are a business.
I agree Nintendo of America sucks on all fronts as all of these things ought to be available with the proper arrangements. I have a launch 3ds so I've already got a charger so none of this really affected me. Although those UK bundles were looking really nice which makes me even more pissed at Nintendo of America.
It also doesn't come with a charger so you better have a working one ready
I really dont mind the XL size, but just limiting it to XL on the US market is bleh gross
I managed to grab the majora's mask one, kind of, as I didn't really care about the face plate thing. I went to the store when it opened and the system crashed when I was about to pay. I got called today by their Indian outsourced 800 service and got to pay for it that way; they called back but they got cut off so I assume it wasn't important as they haven't called back yet.
I only planned on getting XL anyway. The custom plates don't bother me and considering that New 3ds XL outsold the regular size one, I understand where Nintendo is coming from.
