Xenon

Third Job?

I've been leveling Xenon for the Link Skill, but third job is irritating the heck out of me. All of the skills feel so slow and awkward that I've found myself mainly using that second job car skill to train.

Am I missing something or is it just like this?

@Finalily: Not a problem haha Honestly, it's probably me who's in the wrong for giving advice that's unhelpful at best and dead flat wrong at worst... but I uh, can't help myself with these things.

I didn't like third job training at all. But I'm waaayyy past that now. And I didn't have 2x or any link skills at the time so it was even more annoying. Just be patient, fourth job is beast!

@Axnslicer:

Aha, I see. Well, I don't mind bossing but I like party questing a lot as well. It's too bad that that becomes a poor option after 160 (and even after 140 since DIPQ is usually so disliked for party play). I have to say though, I've been turned off bossing for a while after a friend thought it'd be a good idea for us to go and hunt down the Emperor Toad in Ninja Castle. I still can't believe how long and boring that was haha.

It's too bad about LHC, that always looked entertaining enough for me. Our Evo is pretty poor because no Kannas means no Kishin bug which means a much lower spawnrate. At least DIPQ is still good though. I thought your levelling methods were a lot different than ours, I guess I was wrong.
@Axnslicer: It's not about what you cannot stand, I was just saying that for the OP 3 hours of non-enjoyment isn't worth it. If they're not enjoying the class they should really try something else tbh.

Edit: Also I wasn't suggesting that 3 hours of grinding is intolerable. It's just that doing PQs and quest chains is more fun even if that'll take, say a total of 10 hours of play instead. Which is what I usually opt for honestly.

Besides, I'm not disputing that the time spent levelling to 100 isn't nothing compared to what comes beyond that, but it's usually a more enjoyable time compared to the 'twilight of the soul' you get at later levels. Again; this isn't about time spent, it's just about enjoyment factor.

By the way, did LHC get nerfed for you guys yet? At least, we've never had that and sadly no singapore update either. It makes levelling from 130-160 pretty crippling in EMS at least.
Fair enough. I find bossing fun though, and we don't usually see decent bosses until near 200. LHC is nerfed, but DIPQ+Evo are faster 100-160 than pre-nerf LHC was in GMS.
Idk about you, but for me a good portion of the fun I have with a character is getting it to 100. And besides, while I agree it doesn't last long (though not as short as that - maybe cause our MPE and R+J PQ is nerfed to hell) 3 hours of non-fun still sucks.

If this was for a main I'd recommend you look for a different character, but since it's just a link skill mule just get it to 70 for now and take a break. Go back to it later and you'll feel a lot better about hitting 100, and 100-120 on Xenon is fine. If you really can't wait, Xenon has plenty of skills and different playstyles for his 3rd job. Try messing around with Combat Switch: Division instead. It combos well with Gravity Pillar -> Diagonal Chase -> Division which might keep you entertained for a while.
If you can't stand 3 hours of grinding MS may not be the game for you. Insert generic pre-BB leveling comment here. I actually still listen to people talk about how it takes 40 hours to level at 220-230, while 1hkoing the entire map.

If a good portion of the fun you have with a character is getting it to 100, I have to ask if you have a level 200+ character. The time spent leveling to 100 is a fraction of the time it takes to get to 200.

@Finalily: MPE - is it Kishin glitched like Evo Lab? We don't get the Kishin glitch in EMS either due to it not being present or just that Kannas are buggy to unplayable levels in our version anyways. As it is MPE in EMS doesn't seem... bad, just lacklustre. It depends a lot on what map you get as well, it's very disappointing EXP without Forbidden Time or the Korean Folk Town map.

As for R+J that got whacked with the nerf bat exclusively to EMS so the neo huroids there only give about the same as a normal mob of the same level (Ex. 600 odd at level 80). It's only good for rushing now which puts it and Orbis Party quest at an equal level in EMS. Either way I still think Orbis is good exp even if R+J IS better for you guys xD It's really quite fast once your party knows how it works.

Edit: Sorry, that kind of confused even to me. I just meant by my 'in our version' thing that EMS has different ways to level to 100 which are generally slower than in GMS.

@galbatore idk what game you're playing, but our MPE and r/j is perfectly fine

I don't remember it ever being any better

What sucked is xenon's main 3rd job skill got nerfed pretty hard which is combat explosion, it used to hit 8 times and 8 monsters but now got nerfed. Explosion skill lost 2 lines of damage and hits a max of 6 mobs now. So yeah 3rd job is pretty rough to train considering explosion is slower than his second job skill.

Yeah, 3rd Job is boring as heck.
What I did was rush enemies with the car than used Quicksilver Concentrate because I can get 100% Crit with it

Lots of people use the "car" anyway, right?
It's pretty much the best skill for grinding across flat maps because it's mobile, attacks a bunch of enemies, and carries them with you as you move.

It was like that for me, hence my xenon is still lv75 QQQ

If you deal enough damage, then Quicksilver Concentrate is a lot better than Combat Switch.
