institutionalized racism in the work place? namely Hr

So I've been applying to several jobs for the past few months after finishing a one year stint with a non-profit..
After sending in well over 100 applications, I received one request to come in for an interview. ONE.
I don't mean to brag or anything, but I was more than well qualified for a number of the positions I applied for- if anything, I honestly felt overqualified.

Here's where things become interesting:

After reading this article, things may make some more sense now. My name is Jorge. Jorge Jorge Jorge. Yes, like the name people joke as being that of their landscaper or housekeeper
I wonder what would have differed if I had put my middle name, Anthony, instead?

Welps, I ended up landing the job I interviewed for at Warby Parker. Hired almost immediately.
Suck on that potentially racist HR people, you missed out on a kickass employee but I don't care 'cause now I'm working for a kickass company

What do ya'll think of this? Have any of you with exotic names had similar experiences?
Oh cool what races, if I may ask? I'm full hispanic but I definitely don't look it.. people think I'm mixed as well (some type of white/asian mix lmao)
Yeah apparently my maternity nurse urged my parents to not name me Jorge because "I'd have a difficult life"... ah well, c'est la vie. I do love my name, especially after being insecure about it growing up in a predominantly white 'hood, but things like this just make me feel really sad
but straight white males deny it anyway
I felt like I got more interviews when I put a nickname that was ambiguously male/female on my resume but it could have been a coincidence/confirmation bias.

mitarumetaro surprise surprise bleh It really is a sad reality.. kind of ironic how universities seek "diversity" but the workplace doesn't. I'm hoping to stay at WP longterm but if I have to job hunt pool again I'm seriously considering going with George or Anthony lol
There have been studies done (which I am not prepared to cite) which show hiring biases towards whiter names, men, etc

But straight white males deny it anyway

I have a Mexican friend named Jorge who goes by George. Me and my friends call him Jorge, but when it's business time, he goes by George. Still the same name.
