Wildhunter

When do you regret playing as a Wild Hunter?

I hate it when people call me Wild Hacker.
I wasn't even around back then T^T

And second would be when I'm training...
Simply because the class isn't... As good as other classes.
(I'm not saying we're the worst, but you get my point.)

So, do you guys regret playing the class?
If so, when do you hate it the most?

I don't regret the class other then being called a hacker once or twice before. Other than that WH is a fun class.

@Leo45: I know where you're coming from as I used to main a perma beginner pre-big bang. I just think differently now. I think our class is pretty amazing and unique as is by premise alone, and our cheap equipment will cease to exist once wind archers come out and red buffs all the archers anyway.
But yeah, that's just me.
And I am so ready for the revamp. It's gon' be so nice.

@MuffinsINC: Oh ya sorry i didn't make that clear i was talking about the TS.
And its just nice when you go in a party and everyone goes like "OMG a WH" Or "Do they even exist :O". This makes me feel that our class is special and unique, its also nice that we have the cheapest equipment right now (Until the WA revamp hits anyway). It all goes back to personal preference but dont worry when we get our little revamp im sure more people will start playing WHs.

@Leo45: I'm not that person, you're mistaking me for @Teryu.
I'm over 40 levels away from that title.
But anyway... I don't like classes being completely barren when there is actually a lot of good stuff going on with them. Bandwagons don't really bother me, never have.
I would like to see more WH around on a regular basis that aren't just mules.

But that's just my preference, obviously this isn't something where there is a right or wrong answer.
Oh yeah they are. The revamp really cleans our class up, gives us solid buffs and removes/replaces pointless filler skills. Makes us even more well-rounded.
Hopefully the revamp brings more people to the class as I think it's pretty under-appreciated.
IDK I'd usually say that its better when the there aren't alot of WH's around, but in the past month or so i only saw 1 single WH other than me and he was lvl 50. But I still dont know why its like that, it's a pretty strong class IMO.

Edit: Just realised you'r the first bowman on the rankings, Go Get E'm.
Just wondering if anyone does this with their Wild Hunters; when fighting bosses, I use the Mine skill and run around the boss while doing my triple shot then turning back around, is more effective just to use triple shot?
What level is your triple shot? I kept mine at Lv.1 forever as swipe is actually a superior bossing move.
Also, I never cared for bossing until I got wild arrow blast which is actually useful.
The mine skill is basically useless, and it isn't that significant of a help.
If you find it more enjoyable and engaging though... then by all means do it.
I just like that there aren't a lot of us, other than that we're dwarfed by other characters in almost every aspect.
And my HP. It becomes a problem with bosses like the ones in root abyss. Most attacks are usually 1 hit K/O, but even when they're not for other chars, it is for us.

I don't know how our dmg is compared to the explorers or cygnus knights, but I'm guessing we're higher?
HP is an issue? Compared to our other fellow bowmen our HP is actually quite respectable. When I hit Lv. 170 I was rocking a solid 18k hp which served me fine.
And actually, we're pretty solid in the damage department. We're dwarfed by the god-tier stupidity of the more recent classes but we get by just fine.

OT: Sometimes when I'm in a party play area and all my mobbing moves knock the enemies around everywhere I get a bit annoyed. But no, I don't think I've ever regretted making this character. It's a lot more fun to me than the other bowmen I have, they look completely badass, and they are very well-rounded and balanced in my eyes. May come back to maple for a bit when we get our next update that fixes the kinks in our class like the useless filler skills and bugs.

WH is a fun class, but needs a ton load of fund for it to be above average. I regret playing WH when I see other classes hitting as fast as my WaB but hitting mutliple mobs.

I regretted second job, ricochet was painful Dx but then I got the bad buttery of swipe :'3 healing and 1 shotting everything in sight... I mained 2 wild hunters, one in yellonde when the class came out and one in bera like 9 months ago, and once I hit third (and especially fourth) job on either, I didn't regret a thing- I felt strong just because I knew I hit alot, I had alot of weird capabilities like the spike explosion attack, moving while using my hurricane esc attack let me control maps in ways that other classes were jealous of I never got called a wild hacker, and since they had such a bad reputation and the hackers were for some reason never where I was, I felt like the only person in maple who had access to this amazing class <3 plus, they're getting a nice buff soon, so their damage will be quite a bit higher. All resistance classes have had bad hacking pro lens, but it's been well over 2 years, so there's really no regret in any way for me

Hehe, I never regret playing this class there's literally like 10 people who actually play WH in my server and I like being unique. Our damage isn't bad, but its not the best.We got sexy party skills and we look super Badass on our jaguars. Also, no one really stereotypes us as hackers much in windia @.@ To be honest, wild hunters seem like one of the most balanced classes in the game c:

Same issues as above, along with the fact I messed up while resetting my skills. Of course there's also the times when I wished we had more mobbing capabilities, since we only have one ranged mobbing skill (Ricochet) and a few close-ranged mass mobbing skill (Swipe, Sonic Roar etc.).
Not only that, but RED takes away our OP Blind + WAB combo (30% blind chance along with a keydown attack skill increases blind chance rate with each passing hit and essentially perma-blinding the enemy)

I also regret that few people know the potential WH can bring as a bossing and a party class.
WH's SE and "party roar" (can't remember the skill name) helps in party areas like HoH, SDH etc. while WAB and Swipe provide great 1v1 damage and sustain respectively.
And swipe is an OP skill on its own (maxed it over DnS) since it heals you for %damage you do but can't exceed a certain %hp from the damage (can't heal full from 1 hp) and also provides I-Frames similar to SSK that Buccs have (when you move forward in Swipe, you become untargetable).

But yeah, WH's are one of the worst characters to play at the moment, seeing as how they haven't had a revamp in a long time (unlike the initial release where they did pretty decent damage even unfunded).
I kinda regret spending so much time on my WH, but it's still a fun class. The hypers and mobbing could be much better - the mobbing skills (swipe, sonic roar) are very slow. I feel like Nexon coulda done much more with the RED update for WH when I look at the other classes.

The WH class just feels outdated in some ways even after RED.
I did regret playing a Wild Hunter back when they first came out, mostly because whenever someone saw me they would either ask for a "Pink Bean buff" or whatever, or call me a Wild Hacker. It got really annoying, and I eventually stopped defending myself and just ignored it. I could understand why they accused me of being a hacker - it seemed as though every Wild Hunter back then was a hacker. Most of the legit players quit because of their bad reputation. </3

However, since I've yet to meet anyone that calls me a Wild Hacker for some time now, I have absolutely zero regrets. Sure, I'll sometimes miss my Evan and wish I had funded it, but after a while I remember how much I love my Wild Hunter. It's a fun class, and even if it's not as powerful as some classes I still enjoy playing it more than any other class out there.
Wild Hacker, ah how I miss those times.
Even though I was mostly on my Bowmaster at that time... Why would we miss a time of discrimination and alienation? The time you speak of was when even innocent players would be blamed for having been a Wild Hunter that hacked... When in fact it was only a select few who first influenced dimwitted players to follow them with little to no guidance on how to use the class properly... Don't miss those times, learn from them.

Anyways, back on topic, why would I regret using the class? I guess the few things I do not like about the class is how inefficient they are, though many classes have hypers that delay them from doing other things, I find the Wild Hunter's Exploding Arrows to be pretty annoyingly sluggish, despite how this class is able to do small double flash jumps with increased speed while running, but only after a delay of using the skill. -_- This being said, I am glad we will have that skill removed for a reliable summon... Gotta go fast!

Another thing though miniscule as a problem I find with this class is the Drill Salvo Hyper Skill. It is ok, for now, but the summon we get should be better. Its just something about the play style of a Wild Hunter that screams, "Delays suck, I wanna go wild and destroy crap!" For the amount of maneuverability this class has, we should have more reliable attacking skills other than Wild Arrow Blast. It would also improve things by not reducing the amount of time our buffs last as well as enabling us to cast buffs on the go.

I.e. We can cast Soul Arrow + Sharp Eyes + Concentrate + Blind while in motion with jaira, but we cannot cast Feline Berserk + Call of the Wild on the go. The animations are awesome and all and I understand that they are technically roars from the jaira, but we should be able to do a battle cry as we are attacking while in motion too. It is a small pet peeve of mine, but sometimes it annoys me.

In terms of regret of having played this class, I have none with this or any classes. I am having more fun with it than I did with my Bowmaster and Marksman, I am not afraid to admit this. All classes do become stale after a thorough play through of them and personal preferences change over time. It is a good reason for there to be updates and changes to classes as it introduces new ways for us to play them and it renews a sense of fulfillment when we explore, level and fight bosses. Replay value is everything to me in gaming (I am sure some may also agree) and sometimes I complain or critique on things due to a lack of this replay value. This is my take on it, hope you all have fun!

Happy Mapling
