How to make Maple great again
Everyone is discussing how Maple is dying and how we can bring it back up
I have a solution!
Like politics, we should have a nominated GM
A GM who stays in power for 1 month? 4 months?
When his or her time is up, we elect another GM
Furthermore, these GM's can be impeached and kicked out of the GM status if he/she fails her responsibilities
What are these responsibilities?
They can be what he/she said they will do during the election process of being a GM
Whether it'd be "Stop hackers" or "Create more GM events for the community", if he/she fails, the community can vote him/her out.
How I think it can work:
1. To make things not be overfilled with applications and to make Nexon get something out of this, I believe players should actually PAY NX for an application. 50k NX?
2. Applicants will propose their ideas why he/she should be a GM
3. Applicants get voted on (1 GM per world (combined worlds count as 1 world)). Players can only vote for one GM, essentially they can only vote for the GM for their world.
4. The new GM's will set to work of what they said they will do (Create events or content. Make the game more enjoyable. Ban cheaters. etc.)
5. Once the time is up (1 month? 4 months?), the whole election process starts over
Why I think this can work:
Maplestory is dying. It's the sad truth.
People simply are bored and are frustrated by the boredom, cheaters, and etc.
This can be a way to help both parties, the community and Nexon.
We, the community receive help and support to keep the game fun, enjoyable and alive.
Nexon gets $$$ from the applications and basically free GM support for their game.
What will these GM's get out of it? It can be a soft GM.
It'll be like "Oh look, here's a cheater. Banned" or *Smega to everyone to come to Henesys* *Spawn mobs and boss there*
The player GM's won't be like godly players. They can still be regular players who grind gear like everyone else.
Or if you guys insist, they can get mesos from time or time? idk lol

Hello there Maplers, I believe I can be a wonderful GM!
I have been playing this game pre big-bang. I played it for nearly 13 years!
I understand many of the frustrations players today feel as I have experienced much.
What can I do?
I will make the game enjoyable for the community. I will do GM events and listen to what people want and need!

Reboot is still fluded with hackers, which GM's ? I never see one.
There's a reason why all the good GMs quit.
You're probably insane if u play anything other than Reboot at this point. I just want a connection that isn't plagued by intense unplayable levels of lag and it would be awesome in Reboot. Other stuff like u say could be cool too but its almost best if GM are not players cuz that is problems

At least with OP's suggestion Nexon will make a quick buck with all the people buying 50k NX applications. And then it's MLC v3 all over again by nominating a person via popularity vote. ecksdee
GM's hold no authority other than looking at reports and carrying them out. They don't decide on when a GM event happens or how often it happens. GM's can't stop hackers. Are you a moron? Things that stop hackers are competent programmers who are up to date with the latest injection programs and scripts.

GM's are not the solution to an already dying game. Want people to come back and people interested in Maple again? Stop the P2W and Nexon's evil greedy tactics (kishin/frenzy/No auction house, etc..) and that's a start for a better maple.
No, you just get rich people doing this then and doing whatever they want and having the system destroyed within 2 people and a mess that makes the game even less popular.
What you & a lot of people need to understand is that GMS is extremely out-dated & no matter what happens with this game, nothing can stop the fact that it's dying. Only suggestion to you guys is to play Reboot and enjoy the game while its still up & running, reboot is the only thing keeping this game somewhat relevant these days.
Anything that exists will always have an ending, even LoL will die out some day.
Absolute fail... paying 50k nx just to apply and try to fix this garbage game which is imposible. It can't be saved at this point
