Kind of funny, whenever I see people using these its always on their necks. Never on their ears.
@aznseal: Then my Beats are very good compared to the others. Believe me. I tried and they have good highs and mids and the bass is crisp and clear and I can definitely hear them resound. Maybe you just listened to weirder versions? I have heard from many other headphones and earbuds and Beats Solos are probably one of the best. The only problem is their bleed which is bad for recording but otherwise they are good for carrying on the go and you can definitely hear the difference.
They have "good" highs and mids when compared to ipod headphones or other crappy sub $20 ones but when compared to other headphones in the market like Audio Technicia M50s, the Beats just can't compare.

I have solo HD's. Not too shabby.
Protip: My $600, 7-year old factory-default Dell has about the same (some are even better) overall specs than a brand-new $1199 iMac.
The $1200 iMac has an i3 duo core clocked at over 3ghz, 256 mb graphics card, 4gb of ram and more storage then available in 2004. Unless you forgot a 0 in how much you paid for your laptop, not a chance in hell that you aren't BS'ing.
Ditto. Solos are very good for audiophiles and they have crisp high and mids with deep and tuned bass. But they can be expensive and there are some better options out there for you. Beats by Dre is actually relatively mediocre and not super amazing as many suggest. You could go with other Monster headphones or Bose headphones and get them for cheaper. Depends on you. I'm a drummer so I keep Bose headphones as well as noise cancellation ones. Beats Studio is pretty good for recording stuff too as I record raps here and there but Solos have too much bleed for recording stuff. Beats are pretty good but probably not worth the price. If you can afford them, then get them but there are some better headphones out there.
Solos are garbage for audiophiles LOL
They have crappy mids, crappy highs, and the only thing it has is bass, which ends up being muffled and muddy.

The only thing worse than Beats are skull candy headphones LOL

+1. I hate people who buy high end headphones but have low bit rate music they ripped off of YouTube.

Also I found the Solos a bit muffled. Maybe just me but thats how I remember them.

I'm not gonna lie I want a pair but the price hurts me. Are the Solo's wires detachable like the Studios in case it one day breaks like every other cheap pair of ear buds?

Like me, I got my Solos on boxing day (Like black friday if u didnt know) for 130 or something.
Yeah right. Sennheiser HD 202's. Love then. Though it would be nice to have some 428s.

Isn't it just another product that's overpriced because you're actually buying for the brand appeal?
a) Your computer from 2004 cannot beat a 3.06GHz i3 processor, 4GB of DDR3 RAM and an ATI 4670.
b) Plus iMacs have a built in screen you would have paid for for a monitor also.
c) That wasn't even a protip, that was just a failure at trying to disprove Apple's products.
A 2004 may not but a 2011 Windows will severely out perform a 2011 mac if both are the same price.

God, Beats AND a Mac? So fail. Both things that are more about appearance then actual quality.

My friend got Dre headphones and my other friend went to try them on and both earpieces snapped off. GG dre. You're just paying for the name, these headphones suck ass. Buy headphones from ULTRASONE half the price, triple the quality.

Just because they're a brand names, doesn't make them bad. They are just overpriced but on par with the other headphones mentioned.

Beats are decent but not for the price. They look cool but not worth the extra money. Plus, they leak like a %$^#.

I use denon ah-d2000's

Very very good for DJ-ing

@above I totally agree about the sennheiser cx300. I've had all other types of in-ear headphones and none of them were as good as my cx300 II's

The sound leak is terrible, just terrible. Unless if you want to become one of those people who have their stereo on max volume while driving around town, you should go buy another brand for less.
