in v119 i had to use compatibility mode, but in this version it runs good, sometimes i have to re-launch because of hshield error.
btw its way faster than Windows 7
PS:i dont use steam.
trust me, windows 8 sucks. I'm using it right now. It's non-intuitive and adds a completely useless dual interface system that doesn't benefit the user at all if they're using a traditional system without touch capabilities. Who cares if it can access programs, the entire UI sucks, and therefore, windows 8 sucks.
Whaddaya mean? Windows 8 not only improves on the hardware architecture of the preceding Windows platform, allowing for more reliable hardware compatibility and inherent drivers, but also preserves the state of the boot sector during a shutdown, which decreases the boot time on startup. The fundamental structure of the operating system was slightly adapted into a more "processor-friendly" interface that improves the speed and access time of most programs in general, and the interface actually is very intuitive once you actually learn the gestures that allow you to navigate the interface efficiently.
Also, even if the metro UI isn't your thing, there are a ton of third-party programs for 8 that suitably restores the original Start Menu and Windows 7 Shell that you've grown accustomed to, such as Classic Shell.
OT: Maple seems to work fine for me, whether or not I run it from Steam. If attempting it a few consecutive times does not help, then make sure your graphics driver is up to date. You may need the .net Framework, but I'm fairly certain that was addressed in a past patch.
Uninstall it then. Windows 8 is great IMO.
I'm about to. I'm going to run xp dualbooted with ubuntu instead.

Well it is famously known as being almost not terrible.
I haven't found one program that there isn't a desktop version for yet, so I do not know what you speak of.

Yes i have tried it out. Now don't you feel stupid. It reminds me of a phone. That is why i think it is stupid. Programs are being changed to "apps". Win 8 makes me want to learn how to use Linix.
I haven't found one program that there isn't a desktop version for yet, so I do not know what you speak of.
Bashing something without giving any reasons at all makes you look so intelligent. Even better when you haven't even tried it out yet. No, I'm not talking about trying a Windows 8 computer in a store.
these 3 things always work for me
restart the computer
end all maplestory services through task manager
keep starting it up until it works
but this was really annoying me so i just installed windows 7 again
@miauri: maplestory for steam isn't available for people outside america :S
