What do you think?

What's up basil.

There's this girl, we started out just as friends, but then we both developed feelings for each other. The thing is that we are both highschool seniors, and she is going to a college really far away next year. Because of this she doesn't want to start a relationship. I just really like her though. We still fool around and etc, but no one else really knows about us. At first I was thinking whatever, I don't care what other people think anyway, but I just don't know what to do now. First she said that she wouldn't mind if I found someone else, but then she said that she'd be really sad.

I don't want to play this dumb game and might just try to forget about her because I agree that a long distance relationship is definitely not going to work out. And it'd probably be way too weird just to go back as being normal friends again.

I went out with my girlfriend since junior year. We both went off to college and it didn't work out.... I couldn't do a LDR.

@Siienna: that makes sense. Yeah, those ones that start from two Basilers who Skype never last. But I think through college people can handle it better, especially if they started dating in high school.
I mean, you have three paths:
1) find girl in high school, hope you and her can keep up LDR
then
2) try to find time to find girl in college
then
3) find women at bars and work and that's it
This sucks and I can kind of relate, but because my crush is a junior and I'm a senior so if I go to college far away then...yeah.

Long distance relationships have (obviously) worked for some people. So I don't know why everyone thinks they're hopeless.
I feel like long distance relationships only work out if they didn't start as one in the first place..if that makes any sense.

If you guys really like each other, just try it man. You have ~1 semester left + summer. If you don't break up before then, maybe you'll develop stronger feelings that will make long distance work.

Or like everyone else says, you can just forget about it. I would just try it anyways since you won't be seeing each other much during college anyways.

Long distance relationships do not work
Leave her bro
College there are millions or opportunities.
Don't worry there is more than one fish in the sea.
And there will always be more colorful, tasty fish too
I was talking about going fishing
Go and fish, calm and peaceful think about life

stay as friends but consider that after u guys graduate u can get together or whatever. regardless, you're both gonna grow up/change while you're apart so you can wait and see if things turn out for better or worse (in terms of your relationship)
