Chaos Personal Mechanic Guide

Please be warned that this guide may be extremely flawed. This is a personal guide done for a friend. Information on this guide is a modified and tweaked version of ZeroKnightz' Mechanic Skill Build Guide. Any input on this guide is extremely welcomed

[header]Introduction[/header]
Mechanics are slow mobile class with high damage output and a set of versatile skills. Their most prominent trait is their high defense and ability to resist knockbacks. That being said, Mechanics make awesome attackers at bosses.

[header]AP Build[/header]
Regular STR:
STR = Your Level.
Plain and simple; Auto-Assign can be used to achieve this AP Build. Though most people will cap their STR around 50 to 60. It's best to plan ahead instead of plainly putting STR; you could end up with a overflow of STR. This AP Build is probably suited for those who aren't not concerned for damage or don't plan to dish out the work and funds for gear.

Low STR:
STR is capped 20-40
Adjust your STR depending on the amount you're willing to spend and work for your gear; It's the middle man of Regular STR and Pure DEX. This AP Build is the most recommended.

Pure DEX:
You add no STR whatsoever~! Most people don't follow this AP Build but a few do. With the addition of new accessories brought along with Chaos, Monster Book Set Effects, Crusader Codex, and the future skill, Pirate Training, you'll be able to obtain about 100 STR; enough for a Concerto. Thank you JulienL for the correction.

From here on out, you should either max Maple Warrior if you can afford the Skill Books or Bots 'n' Tots and Robot Mastery; There's also the option of leaving out Maple Warrior since one should be partying a lot with folks who have it already. It is not recommended to put points into Giant Robot SG-88 or Satellite Safety until your other skills are maxed.

Higher damage and lower MP consumption every 5 seconds.

Punch Launcher>Atomic Hammer. Punch Launcher is a faster attack, and both do about 30-40k, with 45-55k crits (lv. 105). It's also way more convenient, and sometimes with Atomic Hammer, I can hammer a 2nd time before they land from the first attack. This means you have to wait to use it the 2nd time. Max Punch Launcher before Metal Fist Mastery (just like this guide says). However, make sure Metal Fist Mastery is mastered, because drill rush is still a very useful skill at fourth job.
Is accelerator bot more useful maxing or maxing rocket punch cuz im not sure if a mech 4th job will be using rocket punch to often. Or if the 2 to get max points in accelrato bot barley makes a difference? Thanks
A Mech at 4th Job won't be using Punch Launcher often.Level 13 Accelerator Bot would be at -26% Mob Def instead of the 30% at max level. It won't make a huge difference and since from 4th Job onward you'll be at LHC were the affect of Accelerator Bot won't work it won't be much of a loss.

if you are completely unfunded its best to go with around 50-70 str max.

So will it be a problem if I don't change to Punch Launcher? Like in PvP will Punch Launcher be more effective than Laser Blast or something? I only follow SP builds until 3rd job anyway because it's hard to find the mastery books sometimes so it doesn't matter if his guide is outdated or not

@ShadoLegend: It was only for training convenience; If you're 4th Job don't worry about it. It was basically more useful to train with Punch Launcher as it's spammable and great for flat maps.

@iLiekIce: It's easy to find empty MP3 maps in some servers such as El Nido because there aren't that many people. And when I mean empty I mean you get a full map for yourself.
I heared from some mechs that its gets boring when u hit lvl 100 is that true cus i've just make one
That's solely on the player; Any class can get boring.
Things I would change:

at second job, instead of maxing acceleration bot, max metal fist mastery. You occasionally use drill and hammer even in 4th job, but I do not recall an instance in which I ever used acceleratoin bot, ever.

at fourth job, the point into satellite safety is completely unnecessary. Highly do not recommend putting anything into satellite safety into you maxed everything besides giant robo.

And also, practically no one uses the 'regular build' anymore. If anything a cap 50 str or, at most, 60, has become the norm. I'm suggesting to edit that for the people who assume that they're following the 'regular build' when they are actually messing up their character by having way too much str.

Nice guide overall, though.
I've changed the guide; This should settle the Max Launch Puncher Vs Max Metal Fist Mastery controversy, but leaves it to which should be maxed first. I don't plan to remove the "Regualr Build", but I added a forewarning and tweaked the AP Build Section.

Any reason as to why you don't recommend it? I changed the guide with the new build, but Ive seen a lot of Mechanics have at least one point in it.
in case you have to boss. like for ghost ship pq its really useful. satellite is more of a buff imo. does extra dmg every 5-8secs but i never notice it cuz i 1hit everything with rocket punch
Then it would all be preference no? I thought people would like to have some new skills early on and I don't see anyone doing serious bossing early on.
I think he means Metal Fist Mastery which gives a 50% buff to Drill Hands and Hammer. We're not sure if the 50% is additive or multiplicative. Adding 50% more damage to the attack will be less beneficial than a 1.5x multiplier.

So does Atomic Hammer become: 430%+50%=480%? or 430%*1.5=645%?

Because if it's the latter Hammer would be better than Punch Launcher
It's multiplicative. Yes, Atomic Hammer has a higher damage output but it's slow. Punch Launcher has a higher speed and has been said to be more convenient for training. I've also read of it having higher DPM.
I think it is better to max Flamethrower first than Gatling gun. First, it hits more than one monster. Second, it has a fire element. Training on fire weak monsters is better in my experience. I would also personally max Drill Rush last And leave it at 1 or 3 until Flamethrower is maxed.

20-25: Use Flamethrower in Ligators
25-30: Streetlight, Edelstein

Also on second job, I would personally max Mechanic Rage before Perfect Armor since it's not really that useful, the reflect is only for one monster and it aggro's monsters. In fact, I would also aim for 13 Booster before putting points in it.

And on 3rd Job, I would max mastery instead of Heal bot because you can get Robot Mastery at 4th job.
I've changed the SP Build for 1st and 2nd Job. Hammer and Punch are hardly used once in 4th Job. Heal Bot has a function and missing out 4% shouldn't be a huge deal.
I have a question. I made my mech pre-chaos. I have already maxed magnetic field, satellite, metal fist, amplifier, and have 1 sp in everything else except healing robot. What should I max next now that everything changed? I didnt max siege because I don't find it useful in any way except for bossing.
Amplifier? I would go for Roll of the Dice or Punch Launcher. Would have suggested Siege Mode but you don't seem to be bossing.

I think it is better to max Flamethrower first than Gatling gun. First, it hits more than one monster. Second, it has a fire element. Training on fire weak monsters is better in my experience. I would also personally max Drill Rush last And leave it at 1 or 3 until Flamethrower is maxed.
I'm not sure where you're trying to get at. If you add 50% to the 200% you'd be getting 250%, but where are you getting the 1.5x then? Whatever the range is, the formulas is as follow:

Min. Range * 1.6 (Satellite Bases) * 1.5 (Robot Mastery) = Damage

Short answer, yes it's Multiplied ;d
I think he means Metal Fist Mastery which gives a 50% buff to Drill Hands and Hammer. We're not sure if the 50% is additive or multiplicative. Adding 50% more damage to the attack will be less beneficial than a 1.5x multiplier.

So does Atomic Hammer become: 430%+50%=480%? or 430%*1.5=645%?

Because if it's the latter Hammer would be better than Punch Launcher

in case you have to boss. like for ghost ship pq its really useful. satellite is more of a buff imo. does extra dmg every 5-8secs but i never notice it cuz i 1hit everything with rocket punch
at lv70 i did 1 point in seige instead of satellite because satellite is pretty much useless at lv70 because you can 1hit most monsters with launcher
Is adding the point to Siege any better though? 5 Seconds of use and 45 cooldown, does it make a difference between Satellite and Siege?
It looks like you forgot to allocate 2 SP points after maxing Amplifier.
Thank you for pointing that out O:
Do you know if robot mastery ADDS 50% damage or MULTIPLY'S by 1.5 at max?
Either one is correct ;
Adding 50% damage basically multiplies it by 1.5.
@xKlaudex: Pirate Training indeed, well every class has/will have it so I call it "training skill".
Oh I forgot about the shoulder equipment that you can buy from the silent crusade thingy, if you buy and scroll that, you have quite a bit of extra secondary stat.
Yeahs, I was thinking about that as well. Chaos did bring a long a ton of new equipment ._.
Anyways, thanks so much for the correction, haha.
Eff, I made my Mech pre-Chaos when they didn't nerf the Drill rush. </3 I still have mastery, and I didn't even receive an AP Reset.
I'm sorry to hear that O:
I read somewhere that AP Reset Scrolls can be obtained without the need for Nexon; I'm not so sure where or even if it's obtainable currently ;d
That being said, I doubt you could get them easily ._.
That's simply not true.
You can do it with minimal funding, look at new rings, monster book, the effect(s) it gives, etc.
Getting to 100 str for a concerto is a piece of cake, especially when we get that training skill that gives +30 STR/DEX somewhere in the future.
Thank you so much for the correction. I've added it to the guide. The skill you're referring to is Pirate Training, no?
When yo mentioned low str, you said that you cap DEX at 30-60, you meant STR.

Now for 3rd job, it is much better to max metal fist mastery, and max punch launcher at the end. Since hammer skill from second job does more damage at this point.
I've been hearing mixed reactions about this, but isn't Atomic Hammer weaker than Punch Launcher? Even with the Metal Fist Mastery? The range for Atomic Hammer has also been decreased and I've read that it's been more convenient to use Punch Launcher in most situations.
At 2nd job, rather than lvl 1 perfect add 1 to mechmastery thing for the flame thrower attack etc
Are you talking about Heavy Weapon Mastery?
