Mage Damace %int or %m.att
Hi guys, so I have a question about Mage (I/L in particular if that matters). I am going to try cubing my equips later today, but I'm not sure what I should even be aiming for. Should I aim for more %INT or %M.ATT or even %Total Damage? Is there a certain balance? I am looking for more training damage, rather than %Boss, by the way. I hope that helps. Thanks!

I am being misinterpreted...
@natty2 It is a terribly common misconception, but %int and %matk have no influence one the proportional value of +1int vs +1matk.
@natty2: actually, %int is in the formula, almost exactly the same as %m.attk (exactly the same if you ignore secondary stats actually), you shouldn't think about %int when comparing int and attack.
@darkspawn980: I know.
Also, ultimately, when you have different %INT and %M.att, a humble addition of +1 INT could be much more effective than a mere +1 m.att when you have lower %.
It varies, I'm aware of that.
The way this game works if by balancing all of these stats.
Have too much INT, and then m.att becomes neccessary, and then total damage, and boss damage, and PDR, and it all has to be balanced.

it's not, ratio varies wildly with funding

I remember a same rule during pre-bb days...
If that is true, a +11 magic attack epic line could end up being better than a +2 int per 10 character levels legendary line.
My rule of thumb is M Att is 4x better than INT.
Not every equip is capable of getting % magic attack.
Those that can MUST have it, it's a GREAT line.

magic atk on wep/secondary/emblem, int on everything else
I think best way to put it is aim for %m.att. Boss and PDR are obtainable in other ways such as set effects and as well as nebs and some items come with it.
Am for m.att/boss/pdr on Weapon/Secondary/Emblem. Everything else aim for %int.
%Boss >> %Matk >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> %INT
%Ignore could be >%Matk or <%Matk depending on how much you have and what bosses
don't ever bother cubing for %Total
since you said training only
%Matk >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> %INT and that's that. though really, with normal funding/upgrading you'll eventually 1-2 shot normal mobs even if you cubed for %Boss so if you get %Boss, you should keep it (unless you never want to boss, ever, for some strange reason)
