Its a miracle were still around

I'll try to keep this short and concise considering the likelihood of this thread getting locked/deleted. We're stuck in a positive feedback loop and for two reasons: mods don't respond well to criticism, and Mr. B doesn't care.

Users offer valid criticisms about the site in the form of a post/thread ->
Mods interpret 90% of these criticisms as either suspension complaints/appeals or some other form of off-topic, suspension-worthy post ->
They tell you to submit a ticket to Mr. B and promptly lock the thread or delete your post ->
All further [possibly] engaging discussion ends, but again, mods will interpret this as stopping a thread before it gets out of hand ->
Send a ticket to Mr. Basil ->
He sends you a Mr. Bot reply 2 weeks or 2 months later ->
Absolutely zero problems have been fixed ->
Users get fed up and quit ->
Make even more complaint threads because the only way to get things done on this site is via mobocracy ->
Pray that a sheriff isn't trigger-happy with his mod powers ->
Start cycle again

It's comedic how people, moderators especially, believe that the reason site activity has been dwindling is due to MapleStory or the userbase. Has it ever occurred to anyone that the reason why no one wants to stick around is because this site is outdated with both information and site changes (i.e. Mr. B doesn't care) and sheriffs aren't doing their jobs (i.e. mods don't respond well to criticism)?

@BobR Awesome points. I just wanna mention that whenever mods ARE doing a good job, no one ever notices. Basically when everything's going fine, there's no need to question anything. But ya

@Yumtoast You already know all this from previous discussions here.
I'm simply repeating it because a lot of people don't spend much, if any, time in this forum and don't know how things work.

1- Mods don't make the rules.
2- Mods don't make the policies.
3- Mods can't change the rules OR the policies.
4- "Discussions" about suspensions aren't allowed by Mr. Basil's policy. Users can PM a Moderator and ask about specific suspensions or they can file a ticket to officially protest a suspension. Threads like that are locked to prevent them from becoming 47 pages of flaming.
5- Threads like THIS one almost always turn into suspension complaint threads, which is why they're inevitably locked.
6- Threads which ask specific questions are locked after the answer is given so they don't turn into flaming suspension threads.
7- Discussing any of this here isn't going to do anything and isn't going to help or change anything. No one here can change anything.

You can criticize all you want, again, nothing will change.
The correct way to lobby for change is to submit a ticket. Mr. Basil is unlikely to see any particular threads here, so "discussing" anything here isn't going to help.
All it does is blow off some steam, which also generally ends up in suspensions for language usage/filter bypassing
"Mobocracy" results in nothing except getting a lot of people suspended or ultimately deleted.

Mods can't do anything about how long it takes for tickets to be answered, or whether they're answered at all.
Mods can't rescind or reduce suspensions once they're given. We can explain why they were given, but the only way to get them reduced is to (you guessed it), file a ticket.
We have almost no control over anything regarding the site.

Bottom line is, you agreed to the existing rules when you joined, and every time you post.
If you don't like the rules, then follow the correct way to lobby for getting them changed.

Family-friendly people. Keep it "G" rated in an "R" rated demographic mind set.

Will i get suspended for responding to this thread?

OT: yeah I think some of the things people get suspension for are a little ridiculous. and before I get quoted by a mod asking for some examples: I can't really think of any right now and I'm not gonna try to. Also tickets (as far as i know) rarely get answered.
