i witnessed a murder last night

I was at an EDM concert and at the end of the show the most f'd up thing I've ever witnessed happened.

It all happened pretty quickly. I was just exiting the concert like everyone else and it seemed like there was a commotion going on. Lots of people were running and there was a circle gathered to my right.

There was a guy screaming "he's sleeping him! he's sleeping him!" while recording something to the right. I looked over and a stage guard was choking some guy to death. Then either another stage security guard or a police officer came up and pushed away the guy recording saying "don't you f***king record this"

I was freaking out and starting hurrying out of the place. There was several police cars coming to the concert at this point and they were all running in one by one through the crowd.

There's no news about a murder from the concert last night at all. I believe the cops that came in were there to cover up what had happened.

my neighborhood is relatively safe from the gang activity my part of town is known for but some guy was chased and beaten to death on the corner of my neighborhood. cops came to my house asking questions. i don't think it made the local televised news because there wasn't any reporters or anything but it did make the local newspaper.

I've seen enough death for a good while in the past month, I'm sorry you had to witness that.

You don't know it was murder or not. You also don't know the full story. He could have been a criminal.

Society decided to sweep the little things under the rug just to make the bigger ordeals a lot more appalling. These things happen all the time where I live and I'm not too surprised, but some of my friends who have been sheltered by their parents since birth are completely oblivious to these kinds of things. It really worries me that we don't talk about these things (death is too taboo unless it has to do with politics) on a day-to-day basis so that people know what to do in these scenarios.

Someone was murdered by gunshot at a bar where I live; no news coverage either.

Murders happening at concerts, bars, street fights and other miscellaneous venues aren't of particular interest to most news outlets largely because of the typicality given the scenario. It's highly unlikely that any sort of cover-up was in place, rather outlets simply aren't interested in covering stories of that nature. The only people involved in these sorts of incidents are the authorities at hand and the immediate family members of whoever was directly involved.

That said, how do you know whether or not the person being choked actually died or simply passed out? You seem to have fled the scene, so I'm not exactly seeing how you could possibly know for sure if there was indeed no news coverage.
