Craigslist is good, but most importantly, you should be assertive. Grab applications by person if you can, and turn in your resume TO THE MANAGER BY PERSON. That's how I got my job.

I got an email from another place I applied to earlier today asking me to come for an interview. Wish me luck.

Call them and talk to the manager, mention your name and when you had an interview with them.

Your chance of getting those jobs without connections is 1/10. Don't sit there and wait to get a reply. Chances are, the manager forgot about you by now. You need to constantly be applying for jobs. 10+ a day.

Pretty sure they meant previous job references. Walmart did the same thing when I tried to apply last year.
Look through a few different local newspapers if you still haven't figured out how to use the Internet to look for jobs.

Hmm well for the references honestly use anyone, chances are for mcdon's they don't call your references. literally anyone for those like friends, friends boyfriend, brother's girlfriend, sirkibble's #
