Are you mature for your age?
Do you feel like you are as mature as the other people the same age as you or do you feel immature? I know that this depends on who you are with, but if you were to act in your most mature way, would you consider yourself mature? I am a immature person around my friends, but I would consider myself mature and polite around my elders.

Undergraduates always give me that confused look when they ask me about my major. That said, I can't wait for my first post-graduate TA position; the looks are going to be priceless.
wow, phd student at only 20? we're around the same age & i don't even have my undergraduate yet, albeit i graduate this year. Impressive.

I'm so immature it surprises me how I've gotten this far in life
im more mature than id like irl. i make up for it with dank af memes on my main basil account.
being irresponsible isnt fun when you know what you'll be held accountable for...
Then again, being immature doesn't necessarily mean being irresponsible. You post memes on your basil account? o.o

Extremely immature around friends, mature around strangers...until they become my friends.
I'm always mature around adults though. I can be mature...it's just that it's no fun? imo
@alvinhero123: thats why i said, just becasue someone is older, it doesnt mean they are more respectable. It just shows that they were born before you and have somehow stayed alive.
just because someone is older, it doesn't mean they are more respectable
I get that respect is important and that I should respect my elders, but then it gets kind of annoying when they say: "You are a kid. Do not talk." or "You are too young to understand." I don't talk back, but I really get irked by that

Most of us are just actors. We secretly want to have a lot of fun and games, but the burden of growing up is that more situations require you to handle things more seriously.
Maturity is subjective in many cases. No one can be mature in every aspects. Sometimes, I can be less mature than a 12 year old. Sometimes, I can be more mature than a 50 year old.
That being said, I don't see myself as a mature person overall, and hope I won't have to later in my life. I like myself and I wouldn't change my personality just for others to see me as a mature person.
i mean compared to others of my own age yes, but compared to anyone even 4, 5 years older? nope
I feel like my thought patterns are either too mature or too different. Trust me, I can just tell. I think way too much about everything and maybe that itself isn't that uncommon, but it's just hard to describe how I think otherwise.
But I am very immature when it comes to humor and goofing off with people. I'm realizing that when I just let myself talk, I can sometimes sound immature, but when I'm thinking more about what I'm saying I start to sound complicated.

You are probably the most logical and mature person on basil.

It kind of depends on what situation I'm in. I'm generally more mature online than in real life since I can choose my words more carefully online. I don't think I would refer to myself as "mature" though, there are a lot of people my age and younger than me who have career paths figured out and such. I'm going into my 3rd year of college without a major declared, I do not have my life together.
I hope that answered your question.
@alvinhero123: Mhmm, gotta have a little fun and joke around with people from time to time
I've been told that I'm generally a mature and polite person (been told that a lot in the past too) but I find that I can get immature depending on who I'm with, but I'm still polite regardless of who I'm with. I feel like that generally applies to most people too. If you are super mature with your friends, then what fun would it be?

Deep down, I am. If I wanted to act mature, I would be able to easily -- not to say that I'm never mature.
But people seem to like me more when I act like a jackass, so I just do that.
150 hours+ of community service and only 17, I guess I'm a mature person.
no god no
how will i accept adult responsibilities when i grow up
