Worst experience with an instrument

dis is 4 all da people who've mess3d up their lives while playing an instrument.

i was playing a solo with an orchestra a while back and as i was walking off, i tripped over my cello, hit the ground face first, and my baby ended up in two pieces.

what's your story?

Was playing with my dad's guitar, plucking the strings with my fingers for a good 30 mins or so, next day my fingertips were all blistered and swollen..

I play upright bass.

I dropped the bow. Tried to pick it up so I bent over, but my extremely large bass hit my stand. My stand fell over and the music fell off. And then my bass slipped and almost fell and broke. Somehow the orchestra was still playing even though the performers and audience were all staring at me. My director's jaw was wide open...

Well it's not me that did something stupid, it was my teacher

In 6th grade, my teacher was tuning my violin strings while talking to those ignorant people that won't shut their mouths. She started to yell at the student and was so angry that she popped the string and the whole bridge off, not to mention the fine tuners. At least she paid for them all LOL xD

At a piano recital (my first one) I didn't know that we were supposed to start when we were ready. So when I sat down to play, I just.. Sat there. LOL
kidding, but that would've been embarrassing.
I've been thinking about taking violin. Is it too late now that I'm 13+ years old? Same with cello, might start again.

Probably french horn spit. You don't know where it's coming from and then it just threw up on me.
My french horn hates me.

Off-topic-ish: Not dealing with instruments, but in band camp... The first day (I thought it was a dang meeting. No one told me that I was going outside in the 100degree weather!) I fainted. And my director made fun of me. QQ

Playing the recorder in third grade. Though in my defense, everyone else sounded like a dead pigeon.

I can't play wind instruments.

Posted from an MMO account.

When people say they don't have time to do __, they mean they're too busy wasting their productivity time doing nothing. True story.

OT: nothing bad so far with my guitar. But it's banged so many things because idiot people don't know how to hold it. Little pieces of the glossy finish on the body and the head chipped so many times from that, I had to color it in with a marker to make it unnoticeable.

The fact that I am incapable of playing an instrument and I can't sight-read my choral music.

oh my god that's horrifying i'm sorry that happened jesus christ

the bridge on my violin once vanished into thin air while i was tuning it. it was in a reasonably empty room and was never, ever found. after trying unsuccessfully to tune it for several minutes, i heard a loud sound and it was just gone.

I have too many intimate moments with my guitars and basses. On stage, backstage, in class, in bed. Beautiful creatures they are.

Worst experience I've ever had was trying to learn recorder from this mean old teacher I had in elementary school that hated children, ironically named Ms. Goodman.

My resonator pedal of my vibraphone collapsed during a halftime show.

My friend and I also broke a piano bench whilst drunk piano-playing.

9th grade, I had a psycho music teacher in school whom looked like a ghost and forced us all to play piano, since then, I've hated playing piano, however, listening to it, makes my ears orgasm. Hence :
Listening to piano = (y)
Playing piano = >.< o.o </3

I had a solo for a piece during a Brandeis/Wellesley concert, and I was so good, I got a standing ovation from everyone in the concert hall.

MORAL OF MY STORY? I DON'T MESS UP.

once in i think grade 3, when we were newly learning how to play the recorder, i was experimenting with it and after a while i realized that a ton of spit was like dripping out the bottom T_T so embarrassing...

oh once while playing the clarinet i didnt notice that that furry white thing for cleaning it was inside it, so i was playing like a loser throughout the whole class -.-

During a concert back in 8th grade, we had a break to go eat, we left our instruments under the seat on the floor. The first violinist in front of me managed to kick my violin across the stage, and the fingerboard came off...I sat there awkwardly for the last half of the concert. And i was in the front as well.

Not while playing, but someone burnt down the music block when my violin was in it. D: It managed to survive which was pretty impressive. Just that the bridge warped and a string snapped when I was retuning for the first time.

nothing that caused irreparable damage to my cello but i've poked myself in the face a few (dozen) times with my bow
eta: i was also the victim of a defective swivel chair when i leaned back to stretch and a wheel popped off causing me to topple backwards... my dress went up and my cello clattered to the ground (the discord that the strings produce when it's knocked up against something always brings back this memory) but the icing on the cake was that the boy i liked witnessed it all and never spoke to me again

I was in my little sister's room and we were talking about something. i was sitting on the ground, and was whipping the music stand with a sweater...then it fell over and a slab of wood came off of my little sister's violin. We both freaked out and cried.

Practicing for my solo, got up - didn't realize the neck strap was stuck on the music stand. My Bass Clarinet flung to the group and the metal forges snapped... *Sigh*

Some friend of mine and I tried playing the piano (neither of us knew how to). My friend got frustrated and slammed the fallboard onto my fingers...
Only the top join of my index, middle and ring finger on my right hand got caught. Still hurt like hell...

For one of my big band solos' (that I had practiced alot) the nerves got to me and I played EVERY SINGLE NOTE WRONG in the solo. ;-; I guess it was a good learning experience since I don't let the nerves get to me anymore

I was performing in a student concert when I was 11 and when my teacher was tuning my violin, all of the bow hairs detached from one end

Recently, I managed to stab a hole in my hand with the end of a violin bow when I tried to catch it
