Did I Do It

For those who've read The Catcher in the Rye,
I had to make a tumblr and try to capture Holden's essence

http://imagine-holden-caulfield.tumblr.com/
In your opinion, did I do a very good job?
And what can I do to improve it?

It needs more Stradlater/Ackley love though.
We had to focus on a specific chapter. I had chapter 17, which was just Sally

I agree this is a stupid assignment.
My teacher is pretty young, and she's obsessed with Reddit,
so she wanted us to take Holden, and give him a form of social media.
It could be anything from Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, you name it.

Not to mention that most students feel that they haven't learned anything and weren't prepared for the AP test.

So I'm guessing neither of you two do much recreational reading?
boohoo, the SATs. SATs do nothing for you unless you get 760+ on each section. Not every teacher's goal is to prep you for his/her respective AP exam, either. English isn't about learning how to write an essay (what), it's about learning how to BS your way through multiple pages. If you really like the topic you're assigned, the words will just flow, and vice versa. Also, students respond to different teaching methods differently. One student may have found that this bettered his writing methods, while another may find it useless. It's all about the perspective of each student.
your only value to colleges is your SAT score, extra curriculars, ap exam scores, GPA and whether your race makes their diversity stats look nicer. that said, your SAT score does mean a lot, believe it or not. i mean having a strong amount of EC can make up for a bad SAT score, but obviously they still care about it. bsing multiple pages of an essay means nothing if it's all garbage. literally no teacher ever said that writing more is better. they'd rather read a really good essay that's concise and they can tell that he knows what he's doing. i've read too many stupid kids' essays that just repeat the same crap over and try to add filler. they could've read the book completely and know the character inside out but it amounts to nothing if they're bad writers. and how much you like whatever you learned means absolutely nothing, I thought that was pretty obvious. I can't imagine anyone would think catcher in the rye is a good book. schools force you to read it because holden caulfield is such a pathetic character that he's a goldmine to write essays about. you can even use him as a reference in your SAT essay, which will probably get scrapped because the US education system is so garbage.

It needs to be angrier and edgier.
You make him seem more depressed than anything. I always got more vibes of anger and frustration than anything else.

I disagree. This is actually an incredibly stupid idea because it doesn't help your essay writing skills for the SAT or an ap exam. The point of reading novels in high school is to be able to analyze and write good essays about it. Understanding the character means nothing and serves no purpose education wise if you don't know how to use it in writing. I literally just used spark notes and didn't bother reading most books for english class, but because I could write well it got me easy A's. If I had to do an assignment like this, I would get pissed. This is busy work, it really doesn't help you learn anything useful.

On topic, this is pretty well done, OP. But your teacher sucks and it's a stupid assignment.

This looks like a way more fun/creative assignment than an essay.
