Drawing of @ksc16424 's character Somehowingly. This is my first time using Copic markers and my first time using watercolors! I have a very limited selection of colors to choose from, especially greens (which is what I was told this character is mostly composed of). Some of you know that I'm colorblind (which is why I usually color on the computer, where I can be sure of which color is which), so there are probably some colors that are off. I worked really experimentally with this, splattering paint opaquely and washing over the Copics with different mediums. I didn't want to mask the medium I worked in at all, especially since it's something I rarely get to do. The drawing is 9" by 12" and in my RENDR sketchbook, which is actually bleed-proof paper (I soaked this thing in water a couple times and it doesn't show through on the back at all).
This is my part of the art trade with Kat (from like half a year ago). Originally I drew her other character, KemoPaw, but she wanted this character drawn instead.
lol. To me lol, drawing is serious if your putting Copics into it unless your rich..... Most of my drawings are paper sketches. I have no idea how to really draw in the computer.
You can find some of my Art on deviantArt.com under the pen-name "Taihido". just made an account
I feel like with the right paper, it's never wasteful to even be sketching with Copics. Practice is practice either way! You really can't get decent with a medium without putting it through the runs. Eric Canete does Copic sketches every day. I feel like hesitancy towards a medium will only result in a perpetual mediocrity. You have to be willing to let a couple run dry if you want to be good!
I understand what you mean, its similar to the k-on girl you drew holding a giant cannon trying to look as elegant as possible, but the the picture you drew here looks more as if she's picking up the arrows she fired rather than pulling one out of her quiver, but that's subjected to an opinion.

Here's a tip I suggest you consider is the size of your bow and arrow; it doesn't look possible for you to fire an arrow that small from a bow that big so I suggest next time you work on the object pa-portions.

BTW, Ty for the reply, I'll have to work on water color painting some more, that's something I was never really good at. sorry for being so critical I'm just that way when it comes to anime style drawing and coloring. I plan to go pro someday.
Eh, it wasn't really a serious drawing or anything, but yeah, I'll keep that in mind.
Where can I see your work?
Wow...... Copic markers. >.< IMO, I would never use my Copic markers for something like this, those things are expensive. The picture is a little bit off in some areas mainly the arrows. You should try to make the grip on the arrows more firmer < constructive criticism -No insult intended-

Can you put up a video on how you colored the background? I'm really impressed with that part the most. I can pretty much get everything else but that......
Oh, I wanted her to be kinda loosely holding the arrows. Like, when I do archery I feel really badass as I loosely pull an arrow from my quiver, it seems so much less graceful when you have a strong and firm grip on them, y'know? Oh, I have this sketchbook-- it's called RENDR-- the Copics don't bleed through it so it ends up not using them as much as it would on something else. But I gotta learn how to use them somehow!
I don't have a way of recording traditional drawings, but it's just a basic watercolor wash in the background. Like, I made it all really wet and just dripped blues and yellows here and there, then sprinkled salt and then after it dried I splattered acrylic paint (some watered down, some straight-acrylic).

I thought this would get more attention. It's really beautiful. Especially the colors blending in with the background. I didn't even know copics could do that.

Ah, typo! It was supposed to be third time using Copics, first time using watercolors. The submission thing kept bugging out on me that I didn't even realize that error! Sadly I can't edit it.

It is truly amazing that, even without the ability to tell some colors apart, someone can use them in such an amazing composition.

The colors you used are absolutely beautiful! Not to mention the fact you are color blind, making it even more impeccable!

It is truly fascinating how you can produce such amazing art while lacking the ability to see color. Really leaves me speechless. Well done again, and keep it up!

amazing, truly indeed, but i think they lied to you (unless the avatar isn't updated) since most of the gear (the pants) are actually brown, not green.

the cape is supposed to be a darkish-greyish green

the colouring on the hair and face is killing me though, looks so innocent.

@MrAngel: Better skill*. A better talent isn't really.. a thing. And I really do suck at colours. I might as well have black and white vision..

@Skyenets: You don't suck it's just that others have a better talent at this than you. I for one can not draw to save my life while you can most likely do it much better than I.

OT: If I could do anything nearly as good as this I would draw to express myself rather than build things.
