I was walking through Ulta with my sis or something and this old man came up to us and held out a card "I am deaf." and it said other stuff. We just mouthed no thanks, shook our heads and walked away.
Well, first, I do a little "test" to see if they're really deaf. I wait until they turn away and then I let out a loud cough or sneeze. If they "jump" or instantly react to it in any way, then I stay planted in my seat. If they don't, then I go ahead and cough up the 2 bucks... pun unintended...

I'm always kinda skeptical if they are really deaf.
