Hardwood vs Carpet flooring

Do you prefer hardwood or carpet flooring?

All my relatives who live in a different state than I do have carpet flooring in their homes.
My house has hardwood floors (not the color I like, but w.e)
During winter, my feet gets really cold and wearing socks or slippers feels uncomfortable. For that reason, I wished I had carpet flooring. I also like the warm and cozy vibe carpet flooring has on my bare feet, but then again I like the clean, airy feel of the hardwood floors in my house.
I mean I can buy a big carpet, but it doesn't feel the same.
In the end I prefer hardwood flooring because it's cleaner and less dusty.

luckily i ended up with an awesome apartment with hardwood floors everywhere except the bathroom <3 i have small rug in the "office" and one in the living room, mainly so my cat can grip the floor when she plays with her toys lol.

Hardwood floors may be easier to clean, but at least carpets hide filth better!..
Hardwood floors also don't feel good to walk on barefoot, but I suppose you can put carpets.

We changed our carpet floors to wooden floors more than a decade ago, but sometimes I wish I still had carpet floors, with just the bathrooms and kitchen having a tiled floor. (of course)

In Arizona it's hardwood over carpet anyday of the week. It keeps a place on the cool side which helps during the summer when it is over 100f almost every day.

carpet all day everyday
i have a cousin that replaced their carpet flooring with hardwood and after walking on it for a few hours on my bare feet i had picked up like a trillion pieces of shat.

Kitchen, bathrooms, laundry rooms = tiles
everything else = carpet.

At the bare minimum, the bedrooms should be carpeted.

If you're not a filthy subhuman that ruins flooring with body fluids and excessive dirt/grime, or even worse -- walks with shoes on indoors -- carpet should be the superior choice.

@East: Meh... I forgot... I live in an area where houses are no cheap as $20 000. Add a 0 to that amount and you get a fairly not so great bungalow.

@thallforms: I think it's too expensive to call it an investment, unless you're from an upperclass family or contractor.

I like having carpet in the bedrooms. Makes it more cozy.
Hardwood for kitchen and living room.

Not really. It's an investment. It raises your house value.

Well I have tile in my room and i hate it. I preferred carpet x100000 over tile
Though, hardwood floor would probably be best in a living room

Hardwood, it's easier to clean and usually looks better. Carpet on the other hand, let's just say that you never want to knock over liquid/adhesive onto it, or it's game over.
