My friend needs help

Okay let me.try to simplify this as best i can.

Recently my friend, who goes uni, asked one of his classmates if she wanted to go eat lunch with him. She assumed it was a date when in reality it was just a lunch outing, as he noted that they ran into eachother a lot, and were the last two in class to leave. (I guess he thought it would be awkward just to walk out without saying anything?). Anywho, a few weeks later, it was our friend's birthday, and he took her to a fine dining restaurant. (Just as friends, he did this because he wanted her to experience what fine dining was i guess...).

Later, he took pictures and captioned the food through snapchat, to which the other girl overreacted by saving the photo and...well, long story short she started sending him 'curses' and crap, and threatened him with some eternal bad luck superstition that would force him to crawl back to her and apologize. My friend is actually pretty frightened by this and isn't sure what to do. The girl also somehow managed to get his email through which she sends him more curses.

TL; DR crazy girl sending curses to my friend.

What do you guys suggest he should do?

Fight magic with magic. Present her with a dried crucified lizard (Chinese herb shops will have these).
maybe he should send her a curse cursing her for cursing him
Omg that's what I said when he first told me, he should give us her name, she can't take on all of our curses right?
A guy, inviting a girl who he hardly knows, for dinner, purely platonically?

But seriously, if he's silly enough to actually be that bothered by this he deserves it.
Noo, he invited our friend to dinner, the girl who he hardly knew was the one who was invited to lunch.

Um, thanks for the replies guys, I'll see what we can do

Edit: i guess i wasn't clear, there are two girls, the one from lunch who is now sending curses, and our friend, who he took out to a fine dining restaurant for her birthday. Due to some photos, the first girl got jealous and is now going to extreme lengths to threaten my friend.
Am i dumb? I don't get why she overreacted over some photo of food. Lemme get this straight.
He took her to a restaurant because it was his birthday and as friends. He took some pictures of the food in the restaurant that they were eating and uploaded it to his story and for some reasons, she now hates him and wants him cursed...? Am I the only one not seeing the connection here? The only thing i can think of is that the caption was offensive to her.
Well regardless, your friend is pretty old fashioned to be believing in Internet superstitions and curses. I would also suggest apologising. He may not have been in the wrong but girls usually like to be in the right. Just apologise for whatever stupid reason she can think of and get it over with. If the email spam is annoying I'm pretty sure you can mark an email so their emails are sent to spam.
I think that she thought it was a date and they were going out, and when he posted dinner pictures of him together with another girl, she thought he was cheating.

State/Government mandated sterilization is the best bet for situations like this.

That or he could just settle it once and for all by playing CS:GO together. Winner wins.
