The video that I recorded with XFire took up nearly 100GB. :X You're right, it isn't too hot of an option.
@falzar97x Don't record the game AND your voice at the same time until you've had enough practice doing commentaries. Improv commentaries from beginners are usually painful to watch. Unless you're very confident, do your voiceover AFTER the video is recorded.
I use Livestream Procaster cranked up to 1500kbps and with "go live" turned off, which basically brings my FPS down to 18...

Fraps doesn't really screw performance for me. 6GB of RAM.

My computer is awful and I can still fraps at highest quality lol.
