Hero

Were heros always this squishy?

I switched from pally to hero
When bossing I can clearly see that hero's are superior
But when I went to dipq I was taking like 1.5 k per hit.
Am I doing something wrong?
Are there alternatives to dipq?
My range is 30k buffed pre hyper.
I am 152

Since I log on to only fight things that take % of my HP, I do not find the lack of defense a problem. Paladins are tank gods so that may be why you find adjusting problematic.

Squishy? Well... back in the older days, they were middle-ground, since Paladins didn't have the psychotic amounts of defence they gained in RED. Even so, their high base HP is not too shabby. Just remember that, with DIPQ, you're going to be facing enemies that scale to your level, so the damage will go up with every level as well. Your damage range really has nothing to do with it (which is baffling why you'd even mention it).

If you want to boost your "tankiness" a little bit, make sure you utilize your character cards. Having 3 warriors of any kind in your character cards boosts HP (among other stats) and can help survive some hits. Also, if you're not using 140/150 armour, consider upgrading, since lower-level equipment does not provide as much damage reduction (not just because of defence stats, but from a little damage formula Nexon added a long time ago to encourage people to stop using low-level equips and use higher-level gear as they levelled up).

You might also want to invest in a pet with the auto HP skill... either get one from the current Chef Beefy event (as you can use the Beefy coins to buy and make the pet and it's skills) or just nut up and buy a little NX for a perm pet (though still use Chef Beefy to make the skills yourself... =p). With the auto HP skill, all you need to do is put your favourite HP potion into your slot, adjust the HP alert in your game settings to around where you want the pet to begin healing and presto! Your HP will pretty much be taken care of. Personally, I go with the black Ginseng potions from NLC - they recover 40% of your HP and MP, so if you lose enough HP, the potion will kick in and, if you were at all running low on MP (which is unlikely), both are refilled. You can also go with Honsters if you prefer, though the Ginseng potions are cheaper as well.

Oh, and if you do invest in a permanent pet and are making skills in Beefy's Kitchen, consider making auto-move and expanded auto-move skills. For DIPQ, it can be handy in some stages for you to stand in one spot and mob, while your pet runs about and grabs all the drops.

kaisers are just as squishy but you wont worry about your hp once your char is fully geared and youre at least 200 but right now yea dipq does that to most. some people cant even do dipq at those levels because they keep dying if they dont 1hko everything.

well i mean u went from the most tanky class in the game, to like cb000 said a glass cannon, obviously the high perfomance heroes have agaisnt bosses cant be matched with superior defenses or utility, thats why when pallys had elemental reset people called us godladins, the good thing about that nerf was that all the bandwagoners quit, so only the ones that really loves their pallys stay, maybe a dk is more suited for u.

Heroes aren't as squishy compared to most mages since they aren't considered low HP.

Glad I'm playing with a Kanna!

Eh, I probably survive better than most other warriors. Just gonna practice to make up for the lack of defenses. I don't even use autopot.

But yea, Heroes are glass cannons. Some people dislike it, but I personally prefer to perform flashy dodging tricks rather than sitting there tanking everything as a Pally.

@itoldyounoob capping is basically the standard now? This is why I quit.

Yes, they were. Hence why I quit it.

I wouldn't even say Hero's are superior in bossing. If both classes cap, Pally's have way better abilities against endgame bosses.
Hero's are just faster to the finish and they hit really hard. Going from pally to anything will make you feel squishy. I take 1 damage from basically everything, and I survive 1hit k.os...

I tried out Hero for a day to see what it's like. Almost tripled my damage (basically capping), but the problem was potting which I was definitely not used to. I'll take tankiness over damage any day.

They're not that squishy compared to most classes, you're just used to a class that pretty much has the highest defense lol. Try gearing up a bit and buy or hunt for a HP recovery familiars like mano.

I don't notice it, Just get one of these and fill it with power elixirs... I wish they'd buff self recovery tho. Dem Czar sonnab's git ta gain 5% hp/mp per 4 seconds. Us people deserve 10% hp per 4 seconds, not just 1.5k hp >.<
