Same situation except I die anyway because crog would be down there cuz no one was strong enough to keep the aggro away. Also it was not really well known, but the very corners of the ship were safe spots against crog if you didn't already attack it.

The old days were way more simple than some of these other post... .lol.

Once upon a time, Jr. Balrog was THE boss.
Dark and Mixed Golems never spawned because they were vac'ed off the map... Same with Wraiths.
And, if you did see dark's or mixed, they were probably a 1hko if you touched them, so you ran anyways.
You were cool if you had a whip.
Steelie's ment you WERE a sin. The most desirable throwing star for a LONG time.
XenaWarrior and FangBlade were active, and Gods.
Mods were active.
Probably somewhere around 95% of active players had never even been to the end of Sanctuary.
You were also cool if you had a Korean Fan.
Perion was FM.
You never had to worry about third or fourth jobs, 'cause getting to lvl 50 took years.
Black Bandana's... 'nuff said.
10 atk WG > Godly as f***.

I mean, I started maple in beta... Played all the shadow servers... Quit, came back, quit, came back, quit... It is a vicious cycle .lol.

These are the true original aspects.

>Edit I forgot to mention BasilMarket in that... Yes, once upon a time, there were HUNDREDS of auctions across all servers.< .lol.

I remember being a great sin that everyone wanted in their party in CPQ for haste and clearing the rombots at the bottom.
I loved being a little noob and sticking my head out in the ship to see if the pros were fighting balrogs. The amount of friends I made during that boat ride was great.
I remember when mounts used to matter and everyone had a hog because the default running speed was so slow.
I remember when the job advancements were 30, 70, 140.
I remember hitting 70 was so good for me. To finally become a Hermit and I could explore the new areas without dying horribly.
I remember being at Henesys Market and you could pay a pirate to air-walk you to that little platform.
I remember the first time i felt rich when i perfected my work gloves and sold it. I also remember grinding it on several characters. The semi long quest line at NLC.
I hated the guy who made my KPQ experience hell when he spawned a bunch of toy horses.
When my friends all organised a zak run and I got my first zhelm.
When 4th job first came out... The hype was so real. I was just a lowly sin but I couldn't wait to become a Shad and NL.
I remember when PACs was the Tyrant cape
I remember having to buy summoning rocks because Shadow partner needed it every single dam time.
I remember the scammers that always said "Im willing to sell these for hella cheap only 8mil, you just gotta be fast okay?" Then at the end they'll only put 800k. Never fell for it tho It was always funny rejecting their trades and saying "I can't be bothered, ill never get it" and they'll beg you for the trade.
I remember during the late 2000s I couldn't even log in to Maple because all the channels were full. Now there's not even two channels full.
I remember rocking my zhelm, MoN, PAC, Skanda, Facestompers, Ilbis and feeling so dam pro.
Nostalgia.

@trumpet205: ugh pap is so useless then. not even a decent source of exp. i do krexel for exp, not the shoulder since i usually just use absolute shoulder on my mules or 6% tempest ones i had from event.
@trumpet205: unles you get RP from killing pap, totally not worth 1 hour of quests lol. in fact, that's the only reason why i even tried to kill pap a few days ago, to see if you get RP. if you can confirm then i'd actually do it.
You don't get RP from Papulatus. Which is why Nexon really should revamp Papulatus. I mean even Krexel gives RP and a Lv. 160 shoulder.

My 1 hour figure is pretty generous. If you really put your mind into it you can finish it much faster than that.

The new prequest for Papulatus is actually pretty straight forward. You should be able to finish it within an hour.

Did you do all the Star Force quests at Ludi? If so talk to Flo who will give you Piece of the Cracked Dimension you need to summon Papulatus. You talk to him each time you want to summon Papulatus to receive a piece from him.

I've never seen anyone do that, also I don't remember korean folk town being viable ever but the most I got to pre bb was 51 from cpq.
Outdated
Outdated equip
Outdated, we have spell traces now
Pap is still technically a boss
Zak jump quest still exists
Most people would complain that they don't have enough time to travel to the pq and would just grind slowly instead, removing pq's even more so
Still exist
People still do this in the FM, just no one has anything worthwhile selling so they stopped
People these days would complain about this
This still exists, Typhons are still part of making balanced furies, so this is still avaliable.

Basically all you did was list a bunch of things that are hardly nostalgic, next time try something like coke town, being able to get regular maple weapons from mobs, the community.

I think what I miss the most is the crowded places, even fm entrance at channel 2 had their spawners! kerning city, henesys park (not henehoes), ludi tower, leafre, even el nath had its own "selling zruns" place

Good old days: go to every subway map, ant tunnel map, sleepy dungeon map, ludi dungeon, 90% of the hidden streets not in channel 1, and there's a hacker vaccing monsters off map. Talk to anyone and people complain about having no events. Go to henesys market and there's a flying hacker or a speed hacker walking at the speed of light, or vaccing items.

Yep, good old days.
Man I remember when Ludi first got introduced how excited everyone was to visit a new town, taking a ship out with dozens of people waiting was honestly such a legit experience. Everyone's so antisocial and against doing things with other players if it doesn't involve some kind of reward.
I remember when I made my account, 2005.

>"Why do all these people have bandanas with Maple leafs on em?"
>'Masos pliz' every third person I came across in Kerning, Hensys, Ellinia, and even Perion
>Releasing toy soldiers at crowded KPQ and LudiPQ entrances was always a good troll
>Going from Henesys to Kerning was a freaking journey. But the music was nice so it wasn't so bad
>Kerning Subway was always camped by cheaters
>Scrolling a 8 atk WG instantly made you rich

Best of all
things that still exist (not sure about the last one)
They do exist, but there's no need to do any of them.

Pap - When was the last time anyone killed pap.. besides in Dojo.
Zak JQ - They completely removed the need to do ZPQ + the JQ, although they were annoying to do, it had its place in the game, why remove it..
Hidden Streets - They're not so hidden anymore if a big yellow circle points out their locations. A few of them still exist though.
10 min boat rides - It's actually 5 min rides now.
Death Pillar in Masteria - This thing still exists, but who the hell even goes there now.
