Democracy is overrated
First of all the people are too stupid to know what's good them. A modern example is Donald Trump. There are so many people voting for him but all he has are empty promises. Even if he did half the things he said he would it would destroy this country. Yet the people still vote because they're dumb enough to believe him. I honestly think we should go back to monarchy because at least then there's always one person to blame and we can always dispose of them with a revolution.

Democracy should only work if a huge portion of the population is well-educated and intelligent.
@hobodeity Democracy is the greatest, because even if Trump becomes president, he won't be able to do anything. Look at Obama, he could not even close Guantanamo Bay.
A monarchy won't work out in the modern world. What you are thinking of is really Dictatorship. But the problem is due to the history of the US, if a man tries to be the dictator he will need the support of the military. Good luck in trying to convince soldiers who are taught to fight for freedom.
