I loved school dances in middle school when you just mess around with your friends and try to talk to girls awkwardly.
In high school you need a "date" and all that crap. The only dance I went to was sophomore year homecoming, and I was like 2 hours late so I snuck in without paying.
HOPEFULLY I can get the courage (or circumstance) to ask my crush to prom this year, but she goes to another school so of course that'll make it a tad more complicated.

@thotsrus I said they need a social life. I didn't call them losers. I didn't sling a barrage of insults at them. I definitely didn't attack them. You are blowing this way out of proportion. If a person cant understand why a social event is needed then they are most likely socially awkward. Get over it, dude. You are basing what determines a social life on something very stupid. I can express my opinion just like they can. If their feelings get hurt over it then oh well.

@GeminiBladeZX: Of course there are other ways to enjoy yourselves! Usually only the people that will enjoy them go anyway. Every time I went to one everyone was having fun dancing and whatever. Its like saying why do clubs exist. Not everyone likes them. Still they can be lots of fun.

@ThotsRUs: Being on basilmarket doesn't mean I dont have a social life. A school dance is just something to have fun. If you really cant figure out why they exist then it means you are socially awkward. Sorry to break the news to you.

Um i don't get why they shouldn't be allowed. I mean they aren't my cup of tea but i don't mind them.

I highly doubt everyone enjoys them. Can't really see how dance /=/ social life.
