Etiquette in Fm Transactions
This applies to some people only, but please, especially in situations when you are selling an item, have a price ready. It's increasingly irritating when you are trying to buy an item, and someone tells you to "offer". The same applies when you are buying something specific; I've seen people tell you they are "paying very well" for an item, and then asks you to offer.
Shouldn't the seller have a price for their items? Imagine walking into a store and seeing something you want. You walk up to the cashier intending to purchase it, and they smile and ask you to "offer". You hesitantly ask, "$75?", and they tell you "we'll think about it and maybe call you back", and then kicks you out of the store.

Noo if you offer first you usually receive less than it. But if they offer first you receive higher than that. So offer please.
Ugh. As a seller, whenever someone ask me how much and I actually give them a reasonable price, they say "noob" and cancels the trade Seriously? You don't even tell me how much you're willing to pay so we can negotiate. This makes me want to tell YOU to offer so we can actually negotiate.
@necron1636: what @whoever say! Hope you bothj hate each other now!
Ugh. I understand what you mean, but I would still only agree with half of what you said. The whole culture, and yes we might as well call it that, of people offering others and asking for offers is founded upon the simple bargaining system inherent to trading items with no particular set price; all items have a price RANGE. And naturally, everyone wants to get the best bang for their buck. This means holding back your own prices and asking for others to offer a price themselves. Typically, the hope is that the potential buyer will offer a price higher than what you were expecting to sell it for. Other times it means the seller doesn't really know the price of the item they're selling; not everyone has been privy to free market prices, have been playing long enough to know, or even have a guild they can ask. So on that point, I disagree.
For those people, however, who fully well have the means by which they could get their items price-check'd and don't bother, it can sometimes be irritating just like you said.
The metaphor is a little off-key, if you know what I mean. You don't walk into stores and bargain. This isn't the Flea Market. There are set, non-negotiable prices. So bad example, BUT I know what you meant.
As for the random trades from random people who proceed to put a level 90 item of your class (and sometimes not even that LOL) and asks, "need?", I thoroughly enjoy those hahaha.. that's how things were back when the in-game community was different and the state of the game was in its germination stages. It was fun
The metaphor was intended to be a joke, I didn't think people would take it so literally. It's true that you are able to bargain on maple, but the person that first initiates the trade should be responsible to give a price for whatever they're selling/buying.
Most of them are just trying to see if you don't know price for an opportunity to low ball it.
@cool123ter: lol xD

@xKimyAran Aww man I must see how this plays out.
trades are negotiable
the price at your local mcdonalds is not
THAT'S WHERE THE DIFFERENCE IS
Sorry, I don't go to McDonald's; I go to asian malls where EVERYTHING is negotiable.
I'm usually the guy who sees something for sale, trade him, ask for offer and he give s me a price, I don't even try to barter or he asks me to offer, then I just quit trade, too lazy...
from the sellers viewpoint (in my case) i say offer to see how high they'll go i already have a price in mind but i want to squeeze everything i can get from them
from the buyers point it is annoying but i usually offer 30% lower than the target price i would accept it at so when they go up from there it work out for me
The problem with offering low and working your way up is that most of the time you'll get kids who cancel the trade immediately because they don't like the starting price you've given. Does nobody understand what negotiation is? God I hate people
And remember, it's always okay to trade a random person and show them a clean level 90 equip as you say "need?"

Yeah that gets REALLY annoying. I also hate when I say B>SOMEWHATCHAMACALLIT and then somebody sends me a trade request, building my hopes that somebody has what I want. Then they put in Maple leaves or one of very early weapons in the game and tell me offer.
