What do you guys think about locking your items?

For a while now, the cash shop sold item locks for mesos. Yes, it may be a hassle to buy them one at a time (since Nexon doesn't let you have more than one in your inventory at once), but do you think it's worth? Sometimes I get paranoid that I might get hacked, but I want to see other people's point of view on this topic.

EDIT: I'm talking about locking end game crazy gear of course ;D
Locking Items doesn't really secure your items that well in the event that you get hacked. Yes, the hacker can't remove the equips off your account, but they can still cube over your potentials, reducing the value of your equips significantly. Happened to a friend of mine last year, hacker transfered all of his equips that weren't sealed, and cubed over the sealed ones making them worthless in comparison to what they were.

However, they are good if you want to prevent a hacker from deleting your characters. Stick a seal on something that is untradable and that character can't be deleted for the duration of the seal. They also are great for preventing accidents. I've had a few friends who have accidently dropped things that could have been prevented with seals. If you're done scrolling your item, and just have cubing left, I'd highly suggest sealing it.
Id rather have my items cubed over than have people take the WHOLE item i guess..

I lock my items because I spent too much NX on cubes.

@SadVirgin: I haven't dropped anything yet, but my friend dropped his 10 star tyrant belt by accident.

I think you can only lock equips.
You would better lock up your drop gears or decent skill items AND the corresponding slot items, it's highly likely you will accidentally drop them when switching them in intense boss fights.
Sounds like you're speaking from experience. I'm sorry for your loss.

I personally haven't locked anything yet, but I also don't have much of value yet.
Can you lock all kinds of items and not just equips?

if nexon would patch in device-level authentication via email then there would be no need for those padlocks because as soon as someone tries to log into your account you would get an email asking u to verify the login attempt

not my day sorry for thinking of a lame example to unlock longer term locks lol. This morning I got Nexon'd with gacha and now I explained myself poorly in a forum... think it's time I huddle in a corner and watch some adventure time while eating carbs
Yeah but he can still password/PIC lock you out, wait those 20days out then take them. I guess I should have just said I wish there was a longer term lock available Sorry everyone I get that keys defeat the purpose and all but I think having such a small time limit on them does too.

The whole point is to have as much security as possible. If a hacker gets into someone's account and the item has 20 days left till expiration, he can't take it. If all he needs is the cost of a key, the security goes away just like that.
Yeah but he can still password/PIC lock you out, wait those 20days out then take them. It happened to a old guildie of mine, the lock expired faster then Nexon's response to the ticket. We tried to constantly DC them off every time they would log onto his account but in the end they just waited out the time period and still sold off the goods (even with all the smega warnings in the world a random player will still buy hacked items if they're getting a good deal.)

Sorry all, I guess I should have just said I wish there was a longer term lock available Sorry everyone I get that keys defeat the purpose and all but I think having such a small time limit on them does too is all.....

(edit ... having said all this they're still worth it then not having it.
not if they didn't have an expiry to them. Currently locks expire (7days is the lowest lock) so you have to constantly pay to keep them locked, it would be more beneficial to have a lock, no expiry, then sell keys if you ever want to remove them, tag share or scroll them etc. Just saves some money if you're constantly locking all the time.
You can raise the price either so impractically that someone won't bother buying it for security in the first place or keep it low enough so that a hacker will buy it as long as he can still profit. Lose-lose.

... If they sold keys for a larger NX value I doubt a hacker would pay the money to buy all the keys needed to unlock... idk I just hate not having a longer term lock then available.
For those locking the first time getting in and out of CS is annoying but once you have a handle on your locks you end up only needing one or two at a time so it's not so much a hassle. It's worth it in the end even if it's just peace of mind.

My only gripe is they shouldn't have an expiration, just sell locks and create keys to unlock them and be done with it already.
Selling keys would kind of defeat the purpose of the locks

I go by: if you would feel bad about losing it in a situation where your account was compromised AND you don't plan on enhancing/scrolling it, then lock it. DO IT FELIX

It's that extra layer of protection that makes you uncomfortable but secure at the same time. You don't like it being there because you can't do as much as you want to, but you know you need it there just in case Nexon hits the fan.

I would say it's worth because well, anything can happen.
Plus, it wouldn't hurt to lock godly gears that you're absolutely sure you won't be scrolling/messing around with.
& its only mesos so...

I mean obviously, if people value their accounts, it would of course be in their best interest to take ~5 minutes out of their day to go in and out of the cash shop to buy locks for all of their items.

Personally, I really don't care. If I get hacked and lose a significant amount of items, it just means that I get more time to do things irl. The only thing that I'd really be reeling over would be potential money that I could have made from selling the items, but given the current state of the game, basically no one (in this server) would buy the items for what I would value them at.
