GUYS! I just found out that if you drop the VFX and graphics in system options, the problem goes away!

i fixed it!, i had that lag and a 2second delay on my actions, i was using 13XX x 7XX resolution, i changed it to 800x600 and it got a lot smoother also lowered all qualitys to help

I'm having the same problem, I have a NVIDIA card and it still lags. When updating driver software in device manager it says it's up to date

I don't have an Intel graphics card, mine's NVIDIA and my frame rate drops to 1 while in the labyrinth.

I have the same issue and am also running an Intel HD 4000 card, I have an Nvidia card in my machine as well but when I go to the Nvidia control panel to change the default processor for Maple, the dropdown box is greyed out and won't allow me to change to the Nvidia =/

Based on what I read, I have a lot in common with people having issues. I am running the game with intel integrated graphics, 4k series, and I'm experiencing the same exact issues. Right now I'm downloading Windows 8.1 to see if it makes a difference.

Edit: I updated to windows 8.1 and the entrance to labyrinth now works. It's still laggy as heck, but it works now.

Windows 8.1, was officially released on october 17, and should be in store on october 18, and yes, i though it would be in windows update, but it is in the store somehow.

You need to go to Windows Store to get it, i hope it's work for you.

Wow thanks, I forgot all about 8.1, I thought it would be in windows update.
I'll post back here if the problem get fixed.

Just upgraded to Windows 8, 8.1, and lag is reduced by like 80% and no more black background, if you're using windows 8 and experience the lag & black background, i suggest you upgrade to the new version of windows 8 released today.

Edit : By 80% if you're playing on full resolution, on lowest i am not having lag at all.

If you want to relieve some of the lag when you go in the labyrinth change your resolution to 800x600. I did it and it helped me and seemed like I wasn't even lagging at all! Hope that helps some of you

The worst lag I've ever experienced

Well, it really seem to be Intel graphic card, maple always worked perfectly with it, i wonder what up with the labyrith...

i think the laybryth is so laggy because it has a few maps overlaying it, remember it does change every so often so that would explain why.

I am lagging so badly, however I was able to finish the Gollux prequests.

I have Intel HD 4000 also and im getting black screen and lag. Seems like thats the problem

i have a very old pc, and i dont get the problem. its really odd because my friend gets the black map + laggy background

I have Intel HD 4000 as well, and I get the black background. I know you're supposed to get some sort of forest background, so it's probably the graphics driver.

This part lags for me too, and I have a 2gb video card. It's definitely Nexon's fault if anything.

i have the same problem. i am currently re-downloading the game to see if it works~ will get back to y'all in an hour or so ~

I have the same exact problem, can't seem to find any solution either, i absolutly never experienced this kind of lag, not even town lag, but in the new map labyrinth it's hell.

yeah I don't get why it's lagging the laptop I use can run Battle Field on maxed out Graphics and still run many other applications and maple in the background and yet this 1 map is lagging me to no end even after I close everything, try rebooting, changing the resolution, lowering he graphics changing my desktop theme to the bare minimum basic of windows 98 theme and I'm running on Windows 7 so I don't have all the issues that came with windows 8.

It isn't laggy for me. I wish I can help you. =/
