Gambits resemblance to phantom?
The other day I was talking with a friend he mentioned a Super Hero from Marvel named Gambit. Later that night I looked Gambit up.

Does anyone else see the resemblance to phantom here?
The thread about this was locked before phantom came out. Are there any other classes like this?

I thought he uses cards because they are light weight and he can carry a lot of them without being bulky.

Really its not that similar. Gambit uses a Bo staff when fighting and chooses cards to charge kinetically. He could charge anything he wanted, but he uses cards because of his gambling/fraudulent background. So really they both use cards. I suppose we could compare phantoms to rogue as well as they both can steal abilities of others? That might be a better link.
@Kazzooey Actually Gambit uses a staff not a cane... but very similar...
The ONLY similarities they have is
1) The cane
2) The cards
3) The smooth talking
Honestly just walk into a casino in Vegas and you'll see that those qualities are pretty damn insignificant.

Well, he would resemble phantom to someone who knew of phantom first. But yeah I get your point lol. Though I suppose they did change a fair amount from Gambit -> phantom.
@roy5577 Gambit uses a rod that's much like a cane though. I guess the idea of using playing cards as a weapon is pretty common.

Then there's Yugioh.
