@kopred98 What I do when I need something new to watch (and I've watched 100s of different anime now), I either use something like the anime list linked on page 1 (It's incomplete because it's a list made purely by suggestions of other basilers, so if no one suggests it, it doesn't get added), or I use MyAnimeList to find similar. For instance:

I've found it really helpful and found some good anime because of it. Like I absolutely loved Baccano, which led me to Durarara, which was made by the same author and studio and was equally awesome. Recommendations for Durarara led me to K (or K-Project) which I also ended up enjoying and it just keeps going from there.

I don't watch action anime a lot, but here's some you might like:
-Accel World (same writer for SAO)
-Steins;Gate (fricken amazing, starts off very slow though, story picks up at around episode 11)
-Ao no Exorcist
-Btooom! (I describe this as Bomb Art Offline)
-Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica (actually pretty depressing despite the title)
-Toaru Kagaku no Railgun

Guilty Crown (I hear if you like Code Geass then you'll like this show since they are supposed to be similar but I've never watched Code Geass)

All are pretty much cool fighting shows and are very good except Guilty Crown but the amazerful visuals and soundtrack kinda make up for it. And they all are relatively shorter/average length series. Avatar/Korra and Exile/Fam all have cool fight scenes and got a lot of heart to it. Guilty Crown has cool fight scenes and awesome visuals & music, but the story itself is very rushed. Afro Samurai is just a cool setting and crazy cool fight scenes.

i'd definetely recommend darker than black.

Not underrated, its overlooked because basil is filled with typical recommendations.
(Surprising that it isn't even on the thread that people feel the need to link on every anime thread)

And from that severely limited list of 4 anime (a remake and second season as well) you are not giving much of what you like. And your hated list is just eugh.

You would be better off just going onto myanimelist and putting the names in of what you like and doing the best game of recommendation fishing ever. Because that way you will find things that are similar to what you like and if you take time to read why people say they are similar you can judge whether you will like it or not.
