When starting a new Pokemon game for the first time

Do you have Bulbapedia, Serebii.net and any other Pokemon sites/guides ready to aid you, or do you go in there blindly, feeling that you must experience the game by being surprised where anything and everything is and how the plot unfolds...

I usually play it blindly, then refer to serebii after I beat the elite four to find out locations of certain items, legendary's, etc

@LEGENDairy: Yes, things change after every generation. Which is part of why I say don't look up pokemon info at the start of a gen. The only thing that ever changes mid-generation is movesets for some pokemon, but that's so small I personally don't count it as a spoiler.
Blindly of course. Using aid sites for your team is no different than asking gamefaqs how to solve a puzzle.

Edit:This only applies to the start of a new gen though. If you already know all the pokemon in the region, then looking up their movesets and stats and whatever else isn't gonna spoil anything.
Ah, but that logic is flawed. Movesets change after every generation (either slight changes or drastic ones), the level you obtain them may be different, the TMs may have changed and so on, not to mention the various buffs and nerfs to old moves.

Pokemon games have plot?.... 8 gym badges, team rocket like gang attacks 3 different towns, and an elite 4 with your rival as the 5th challenger who defeated the elite 4 a little bit before you did is plot? It has been the same "plot" since pokemon red and blue.

I look up the natures for the specific pokemon, but since x and y is new I would have to guess base stats and see which would be good. IF I HAD THE TIME TO BUY IT.

go blind and find your way.

honestly, the whole wait till dec 27 to transfer pkmn makes it pointless to release separately.
Usually I'd rush into the game and capture all the legendaries than transfer and replay for shiny version and duplicate value.
So unless you've got two 3ds+ 2 x/y...

pray god that they don't release special pokemon with items.
since you can't even bank held items either.

I refer to them for gift pokemon, in game trades, etc. so that I can plan my team. After that I just dive in and refer to them only when needed.
