I Have to Be First or Be a Beta

Today, I washed my bike, adjusted the cables, and cleaned the gears and chain. I rode my bike to the park and it felt smooth, fast, and like a dream. I even saw some cardinals and baby turtles. Tomorrow is a big day. Warm and Sunny forecast. Friday, May 1st. There will be a new blank leaderboard for Northshore Trail(one of the best trails in DFW). A lot of the mountain bikers in my area(DORBA) are going to show up, show off their expensive $5k+ lightweight full carbon whips, size each other up like they always do, look pro with their expensive accessories, put on their $99 dollar sunglasses, and try to get their name at the top of that list. Unfortunately, they will be disappointed because I am going to smashed that 45min:43sec record tomorrow. I ate so much pasta today in preparation. If I get tired while I'm shredding, I will hear @Grip25's voice in my head. "If you are not 1st, then u r a Beta. Stay beta, you beta."

haha, I though about that but I'm not a good swimmer. My mtb is a Trek Marlin 5. It was $500usd but a well tuned walmart bike would still do you good for a triathlon.
