Generally summons are more valuable, since they provide better dps and help in Dojo as well. Murgoth and Empress are usually considered the best souls. I've never had a PB or Magnus soul, so you would have to check with someone else on that point.

Then you either

1. Haven't tried very many times
2. Need more drop rate

The others are right about the high drop rate.

Hard Hilla also has a better drop rate, though if you can solo that you might as well go for Magnus or Empress.

Fairly certain you can get from Normal/Hard at a low rate. The Mu Gong soul has very little use though, since the AB link is superior and casting both is usually overkill/inefficient.

From my experience, normal Von Leon has given me 3 each for each run. I do happen to have the spider familiar, but even if you don't, I'd still suggest Von Leon.

i did hilla with the greed pendant thing from Monster park, and mixed golem familiar and i so far have gotten 2 out of 2 times

Wow I must have weird luck. Hilla almost always drops soul shards for me, and even if she doesn't it isn't that uncommon for her to drop 2. Yet I have been killing zakum twice daily for a while (to level charm with Z.Helms) and only gotten 5 shards from him. He almost never drops a shard for me. Same with Von kitty, I killed him and he dropped nothing. I've also tried doing ephenia a couple times to get souls for mules but she never drops anything, not even mesos. I think my level is just too high for her

@LokiTheStrange: The 15/20 ATT comes from having a soul equipped; 10 ATT only happens if you have a soul weapon without a soul.

Zakum is also easy. 1/2 runs should give u a shard.
Pink bean is like 0-2 with low chance of getting any.

I've done the real Ani at the castle and he dropped them rather regularly for me. I got ten of his soul shards within two hours.

If you're going to kill VL everyday for souls, you should save the scroll to teleport to him for a day. That way, you can instantly teleport to him without having to walk all the way there, and then you can walk out and do the quest to get another teleport scroll to teleport to him the day after.

Ani soul is probably the easiest to get, and can be done in a day. Hilla and VL have had good drop rates.

I think a fully charged Hilla soul gives +20 ATT. It does for me.

VL/Ark drop 1~2 fairly often. The fastest would be ani or ephenia but you need to run them quite a bit.
No pre quest would be spirit of rock I guess

Ani is the easiest because it can be done in a day (You can fight him as many times as you want), however I find Von Leon the best, he's the weakest one out of the souls that give +20 attack when fully charged (as opposed to +10 from weaker ones like Hilla and Zakum).

VL/Zak. I've gotten quite a few Potent VL souls from all those runs, plus the shards drop frequently.

hilla is a...45% chance drop rate imo. sometimes she drops two, but mostly none
