Pokemon X Y review

Pokemon pretty much died for me after Diamond and Pearl (in my opinion). I did play HG/SS and black/white, but after I beat the elite four, I never went back to the game. I never even bought black and white 2. I was hesitant on buying X/Y as well, but I bought it as well as a 3DS (got the xy special editon one). Spent over $240 on it and let me tell you, it was well worth it. First off the graphics. HOLY CRAP. The game looks beautiful. It's in 3D and battles look amazing as well as pokemon and their animations. As for the story... I was never really into the storyline for any pokemon game, but this one was interesting. This game is long. It took me 32 hours to get all eight badges and beat the elite four. And their is still post game content and so much more to do. What I liked most about this game is the improved exp share and infinite TMs (I think they had that in black and white). EV training is also made easier and can be done by playing a mini game. Online is huge now and much more popular. You can access online instantly and don't have to go in a pokemon center to do battles or trade pokemon. Mega evolution's are pretty wicked too and can change the outcome of battles. The music in this game is phenomenal and some of the best songs are in snowbelle city and professor's sycamore theme. The only thing I dislike is the small amount of legendary pokemon.

If you are the type of person who is hesitant on buying this game or doesn't want to buy it because pokemon is getting boring for them, then take my word for it and buy it. Incredible game. And no, I am not sponsored by Nintendo or anything, i'm just an average gamer who is really impressed by this game.
X/Y is a good game, like any other Pokemon game out there, but it doesn't have such a great postgame as Black 2/White 2.
My god, what a great post game. If X/Y had good postgame like B2/W2, then I wouldn't be complaining as much.
Other than that, it's a great step to more 3D Pokemon games. It's incredibly easy to breed great Pokemon now,
especially with the Friend Safari and all. I have to admit, it was one of the easiest Pokemon games I've ever played.
The revamped Exp. Share kinda ruined it for me. 9/10, great game.
Yea, I was looking at serebii earlier and noticed black and white 2 had amazing post game content. You could catch tons of legendary pokemon, whereas in this game, you can only catch 3. Hopefully they will release more content in a wi fi event

This is what saddens me about the high ratings this game gets. It's all based on the graphics. Surely they're amazing relatively speaking, but it's not like 3D graphics are a new thing. It's new to the mainstream Pokemon games yes, but it's being treated as if we've never seen something like it before. I've seen more beautiful games than this game on the 3DS. I don't know why Pokemon X and Y are addressed as something revolutionary because they're not. They're only original when they compete with older games in the series.

You never got into a storyline for any Pokemon game? That's a shame, that is truly a shame. Generation 2 (Crystal) and 3 (Emerald) had amazing stories. They weren't as linear as most of the other games are and nowhere near as predicable. Pokemon stories follow a set pattern which is starting to bore at least me personally a lot. A pattern they just don't seem to be willing to break. Just like the graphics were a thing they didn't break for a long time. Yet suddenly we pat Gamefreak on the back for doing something they could have done ages ago?

Yes, the game is long. That's the one thing I truly like about it. It keeps going and you actually get value out of your money. But once you finish it, you're done. There's no end game content. Why is it so hard to pump some actually good content in there for once? They did it right in Gen 2 and 3, so why can't we have it in other Gens as well? All I do now is breed Pokemon only to be beaten by some Japanese kid who shouldn't theoretically be able to even beat me considering the amount of time they get in such countries to play games outside of educational hours.

There's always been good music in Pokemon games. I'll admit that this game had some pretty good songs, but I don't feel as if something actually pops out that much as opposed to previous generations. Overall the 3D was disappointing because they didn't put it in all of the game. It was an annoying switch which just caused me to turn it off all together. Mega evolutions were neat but some of them were poorly executed. Finally, town designs were disappointing as hell. I usually remember all city names but these just didn't leave any impression on me. Lumiose is deemed beautiful by so many but for crying out loud, it's based on Paris. Have any of you ever been to Paris? I can assure you that it's a billion times more beautiful than the white, bland and repetitive buildings you see in Lumiose. And not just the exterior design is bad, but the infrastructure's design was terrible. Getting the hang of where everything is in Lumiose was a pain in the ass.

Overall, despite my negativity, I liked the game. I would actually advice people to play it as it was nice to play. It just doesn't deserve the praise it has received. Gamefreak needs to step up their game. They need to improve the story to these games. We've been over the whole "Move to a new city, meet some friends, pick a starter, fill up the pokedex, beat gyms, fight against the bad guys, be the very best and whatever afterwards" thing so many times now. It's time for something new.

And of course you're not sponsored by Nintendo. You're posting a mediocrely written review on a random forum that isn't even about Pokemon or widely viewed by its demographic. Why in the world would they sponsor you?

X/Y is great, but I have two main issues with it:
-How easy it is (EXP Share takes most of the blame)
-The lack of postgame material.

That being said though...the music is awesome, graphics are great (after going back to Black2/White2...those graphics now seem quite jarring to view), the multiplayer is quite nice...

If Pokemon Z (or X2/Y2) can just step up with the postgame material, as well as some more pregame content, this generation would probably rate as one of the best ones.

So yeah, for now, 9/10 for me.

The only thing that I really didn't like from X/Y was the pokemon's cries. They don't really sound all that unique, except for pikachu which has its own voice acting
There's still some legendaries that are not revealed there's 3 more pokemons after Zygarde. Not totally sure if they're legendary but hey it's something.
Probably gonna get it with some event.
We're getting a water/fire Legendary called Volconian, one called Hoopa, and we're getting Arceus and Mega Latias/Latios

But heartgold and soul silver was better than silver and gold. Unless you meant HG and SS
The game is awesome but post game sucks.
I have every pokemon in the kalos region I have all legendarys I have all mega stones i have all the clothes and I have 1mill+ poke dollars.
All I can do atm is breed pokemon
Wanna trade me some stuff then, like version exclusive pokemon and megastones (if you have X) or a good ditto or two, because the ones I've found suck horribly.
