Is this a good buy?

So basically I need a laptop that I can use for my academics, something that is easily transportable, fast, and convenient.
I'm not interested in playing any games on this laptop, and from what I heard, chromebooks are great for students and cheap.
I found this chromebook:
Any recommendations/suggestions?

If just simple academics, then a chromebook would be okay.
If you're one of those computer-sciency dev people-peoplers, then you'll need something much more durable. I have a decent laptop that I thought would be okay for computer-sciency thingies, but bruh, Microsoft Visual lags sooooooo bad on this machine. Sucks. Gotta get me a better laptop some day. Much sigh.

Thanks for the feedback guys!
Also, does anyone know how its battery life is?

@norman897 Macbooks are way more expensive than chromebooks, plus I just don't really like the Apple operating system.

If that's all it's going to be used for, a Chromebook is probably your best bet. Personally, I would go for a tablet due to its ease of mobility and functionality.

If all you're using it for is academics, then yes it's a decent buy.

Personally, I just carry a flash drive around my neck, but that's just me.
