Hi I'm a phantom who has suffered from the most recent patch, my ign is Mrphantorn
although i didn't really care about the nerf coming with the star force patch, i was really surprised about how useful blaster still is. i also still think phantoms can still use it for dojo and hell gollux (the 2 places we've abused the most). The last thing on my mind to do was dojo since I saw how slow platter was. Surprisingly, I managed 5:29 dojo time on a really bad casual run. As for gollux, I also really doubted I could still solo it considering the speed of platter, but I managed to still be able to solo that as well.

because of the new enhancement system, my range made a huge enough jump that I hit enough high numbers to make up for number of hits.

@wingless666: it was a huge nerf i agree. star force gave me like another 20-25% more of my clean range pre-star force which covers the cross surge nerf and plenty more.

@elvenbeak u can try hitting a normal mob, use a skill u don't hit max with. Then u can derive ur attack range from that dmg u did. I do as much as 38m on mobs with rapid fire. Rf is 300%, so phantoms would have 270% (90% is what I was told was stolen skills). 38m (dmg done) / 2.7 (%dmg of skill)/ 1.68 (max or min crit).[/quote]

Granted blaster does become better then everything when u hit 25m+ with both turrets but it was a fairly large nerf just from that skill and it was clear the devs were targeting phantoms with
this patch that being said it is true phantoms are hated for dojo times even though dojo didn't change much for those hitting 30m+ on turrets anyway. Also to note star force gave me roughly
gave me 15% clean range though most of my stat is focused on boss/att so +- sort of thing

Well hurricane is great now so you have that to make up for it. The nerf to arrow blaster was more to keep phantoms down than anything. Agreed though. Learning how to correctly use AB at bosses was fun.

Sorry if off topic, but how does one gauge how much their clean range is past 2m?

don't worry, adventurers are never down for very long.
Imagine the slowing of blaster is to prepare for some insane "chance to activate final att 6 times" buff in 5th.

idunno, since u weren't hitting cap before and after the nerf in dojo, you can't comprehend how bad the HPS is now.
pretty much dojo'ing under 5mins now relies on latency to even cut into the high 4:4X's.

at best, this starforce covered back the 20% lost from cross surge.

Coming from a former BM main, I hate this new change. That skill was by far my favorite, and really, the amount they nerfed it makes the buff to BMs seem more like a nerf.

Oh yeah totally worth it, the Star force enhancement. A friend of mine told me he is nearly 3.4mil to 4mil clean and star force really helped boost his range. He is a godly phantom in our alliance. I think he has the same ign

Hi, I am a bowmaster that used to use blaster. Though I am not a phantom, I just wanted to say that I too feel your pain. When casted the attacked literally looked like arrows with no space apart. Now it looks like someone casted a mini hurricane. Though it's still fastish, the old blaster speed will be sorely missed

To be honest I was sad at first because I just recently decided to Main a Phantom because of the versatility and fun factor of the class. I funded him quite a bit. He was standing near 230 K max range with Cross Surge at level 179. Bossing was great too with Arrow Platter (which is slower and weaker now but its still useful to use in combination with Miguile Agiles). Now my range is at around 190-195 K with all buffs at once. Generally staying in the 190 K range most of the time. So the damage made it quite that more fun. Even with the nerf, I don't do that bad damage and Phantom is still fun. As long as Phantom is still fun and flashy (love the flying gold cards <3.

I still love Phantom and I will take it to level 200 and will continue to fund it. I have hope that we will get revamped or adjusted again in the future. It happens all the time. I put too much into him and I love the Phantom class too much to care to hop ship and leave him in the dust.

And you are right, with the new enhancement system, it does help make up for it. I can't wait to perfect my Fafnir Cane. My original love is my 200 DA. Phantom will probably be my overall all-time favorite class and I may level him above 200 (because it is soo fun <3).

Zero so far (I just made one last night), seems fun too and I may level him for fun too. May even fund in the future (but not now). So I definitely feel you. The nerf hurts but its not enough to take me away from the class. Phantom is the thief class that lives up the theme. Stealing skills and changing up helps defeat boredom. Other classes are good as well, so don't flame me. If you love a class, love it. There will always be nerfs and there will always be times you will get agitated with Nexon. Don't give up.
