If there is an expansion pack for ORAS, my opinion may change.

Xy sucks and I couldn't care less about the customization. Flashy cool features do not make up for a half-assed storyline with almost no post game content.
I enjoyed both, but overall I would say I enjoyed x/y due to the variety of pk you find during the course of the game as well as the customization to your character. I really loved that personal touch as it gave the feeling that you were the pk trainer and .... blah blah blah and more blah
^ I hate this guy so muchhhh. D:<

Jokes aside ;D, I felt ORAS was a better game because it had some nice add on's that built upon weak concepts in XY. For example the friend safari was in XY to promote higher iv Poke's, but a lot of the selection was limited depending upon if you knew how to outreach for some friend codes. DexNav in ORAS really helps with that where it makes every wild non-legendary Poke in the game available to 3iv's and HA's with just a bit of effort. I also used to remember when it took me ages to find some rarities like Ralts or Relicanth in the originals, but thanks to the DexNav it took me less than 10 minutes. To me, building a team based upon a battle style was what gave me the personalization taste in all these Poke games, so in XY the character customization were nice, but not so much that it broke the playability of OrAS from what I've seen others have been complaining about.

Breeding is also a bit less time consuming. In XY you needed to fly to a couple of different places, but in ORAS everything you need from breeding to checking the iv's were all within the same path. But to REALLY take advantage of this, I suggest you get a digital copy or Powersaves and head over to some subreddits so you don't need to waste time hatching eggs.

I really loved that personal touch as it gave the feeling that you were the pk trainer and not just playing as one if that makes any sense.
Oras on the other hand certainly had a better story, I personally enjoyed the delta episode a lot. Oras also had some really cool new features like dex nav that allowed you find pk, it actually gave the feeling that you were looking or for lack of a better word hunting for pk as appose to the normal random encounters. However, the lack of choices in wild encounters was off putting. Heck I played with an all water type team one of the most common types and I had a hard time filling my team. Never the less both were enjoyable, I just hope the next game borrows from the best aspects of both games, such as character customization, secret bases, the nav system, and heck flying around on my latias was also really neat.

ORAS because it's not trash like XY.

I think X/Y kept me more entertained for so long just because of the character customization.

But ORAS has so much more variety, I'm going to have to say I prefer it. Secret bases are decent enough to train in and decorate, and the soaring skill is enjoyable in itself.
The story is fairly decent, and the Delta episode was a nice surprise.
Plus it has the same effect SS/HG had for me. It's nice being back in Hoenn

I had more fun in X/Y than ORAS. I love them both, but the customization....

Also, X/Y has Restaurant Le Wow (which I wish ORAS had something similar. Chansey base is hella good, but no money...)
On the other hand, ORAS had that latias/latios flying thing, and that was amazing.

Keep in mind that I've never played the original ruby/sapphire.

@Thiefy996: That's true, At first I thought the same, but as I played through it, I really didn't miss costumizable avatars. Plus it makes sense not to have it.

As the magic conch said: neither.
X/Y was a big disappointment to me, bad storyline actually took me 3 months to complete because I didn't feel like finding out what happened next, and the late game was terrible. With no Battle Frontier, no way I'm going to get ruby and sapphire.

I loved ORAS more for all the new amazing content. But X/Y was also awesome for the character customization, I'd rather have that than anything else but I still loved ORAS. c:

ORAS is pretty much X/Y but with so much more. So yeah, ORAS all the way.

Just stop playing oras/xy and go home and study. If you don't study, you won't get into Caltech. And if you don't get into Cal Tech then you won't make good money. And if you don't make good money then you won't be able to be the grandmaster of games, taking the souls and lives of many other people, which can be harnessed for study hours. Please donate your time to me instead.

X/Y by far. I think Pokemon going to 3d mode and new pokemon discover is what was appealing to me.

ORAS, ugh, I would score less than IGN's notorious 7.8 rating. I honestly haven't played it since episode Z after the elite four. ORAS made me realize that I am probably tiring of the series. Its definitely my biggest regret purchase next to Fantasy Life.

I really enjoy X/Y more since a lot of Pokemon in ORAS were not appealing at all during the gameplay towards the Elite 4. Zigzagoon/Linoone were like the Zubat in wild grass.

ORAS, because you can catch most if not all the legendaries and level pokemon quicker (Secret base Chansey) <-- Overpowered!
Also, the wonderful new feature "Dexnav" which makes it easier to find shiny Pokemon.
Honestly, I would go with the newest released Pokemon game ;p even though, ORAS being a remake of the Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald, It's still AWESOME! ~ -Hunting Shinies for life-

If you have played Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald, I recommend X and Y before ORAS. If you haven't played Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald, I suggest ORAS for sure.
