How does one motivate themselves to attend 8am lectures
4th semester of university just started and I'm already sleeping through and missing lectures. I got an 8am lecture tomorrow which I'm for sure gonna miss cause I rather sleep than wake up at 6:30am and commute down there. How to gain motivation, basil?

Motivation is hard to gain if it's simply a class you just don't care about. The 8am I had for last semester and this upcoming one both factor into my overall and business GPA (since I'm a business major) so I'm more inclined to go and at least try to get a somewhat decent grade since it counts more. Living on campus makes it a bit easier to deal with.
A friend of mine enjoyed her 8am because the thought of seeing/talking to the guy in the class she found attractive motivated her to attend.
I live on campus and I never took a 8am lecture in my 5.5 years of university. I had a 9:30am in first year that I skipped every other day and got notes from my friends. In 3rd year I had a 9am that I went to diligently but right after class I'd go back to my room to continue sleeping.
i don't go back to school until the 20th so i'm happy
Honestly, 8 AM classes are terrible. How did we even do this for kindergarten 'til senior year of high school?
It's approximately $70 of my tuition for every hour of class I miss, so you do the math.
At least for you it's optional. For me, if I skip teaching my 8am sections, I get fired.
No idea what to say for motivation, as I couldn't be motivated when I was in the same boat. I just stayed up late as I felt like, got up short on sleep and dragged through the day. And if I was able to get a nap in at some point, I did
I just dropped my 8:00am class today; had to wake up at 5am and leave the house at 6am to catch the bus. It wasn't so much waking up early that made me drop it but the 2.5hour gap between that class and my next one.
Go to sleep early and drink coffee.
Go to sleep early.
This crap ain't free mofo.

Do they take attendance?
Does this class matter to you and your future goals?
Will you be able to copy someone's notes?
If the answer to the above three questions is no and you feel confident winging things/cheating through tests/know there's take home tests and it doesn't matter at all
Then just don't go
I went to a communications class 3 times my sophomore year and pulled a high grade by using the above mentioned strategies
