Most favorite and least favorite thing about I/l?
I'm not looking for a pros/cons list. I'm looking for your personal opinion. Plus, I'm looking for people who have an I/L AND like it.
I'm looking to try something new and I'm just feeling it out. So what is your most favorite and least favorite thing about your class?
Thanks in advance.

they really should have a skill that absorbs some damage like evans and higher stance rate for infinity
DO NOT CRITICIZE ARCHMAGES THEY ARE ABOVE U. ARCHMAGES<3
Fav things. So much attack range, mobility and damage. I'll never regret picking I/L as my first character.
Least fav. Seduce slaughters me when hero's will is on cd
(It's why I made a paladin as a secondary character)
@MuffinsINC: XD well yes, Blizzard's more for when there's a ton of mobs that GC can't reach. if it's multiple parts, GC wins outright. ID is still used before CL is maxed maybe? or if you're bored and want to stack as much DoT =D there's always telecasting.
Even though I don't have an IL mage (used to have a 5x one before it was stolen from me ), I like a lot of things about them. Like FPs (which is obviously my favorite class), ILs are very under-appreciated. They have great mobbing and great bossing capabilities. Long live Elemental mages!
@GoXDS: I don't think I ever use blizzard one one one... mostly for bosses with multiple sections or large amounts of mobs surrounding them.
But, you know, I hate it when math gets involved, because that's always when I get destroyed D:
Well then, I stand seriously corrected.
Well, that's kind of sad, I hate spamming CL.
How efficient it is training with them. Of course not compared to the latest classes released. Herp.
50 ginger ales
Oh no, however do you survive...
Good - most skills have enough utility to use them for a while, at least until they become completely replaced. Ice Strike training was some of the most fun I've ever had in this entire game
Bad - training can verge on being horrendously auto-pilot, especially in 4th job
what I like: Ice strike is the best skill to ever see the light of day, with chain lightning at a close second. Huge range with CL and lots of power, so forget ever having to cast CL more than once on a mob.
what I don't like: Everything is slower compared to BaM. Expensive because mp and hp go down at the same time. I had to use over 50 ginger ales just to get from 142-143...
Favorite: i/ls mob well and with the right funding can be beasts. Least fav: not really a survivable class; when seduced they die unlike classes with max avoid.
@MuffinsINC: consider this. Blizzard MAXED has 3 sec delay with 205% DoT for 10 secs. so in 10 secs, you can do 1 blizz + ~9 CL. that's 9*1200% + 1700% + 10*205% = 14550% instead, casting only CL, that's ~13 attacks so 13x1200% = 15600%. Blizzard should never really be used 1v1.
no clue for delay on ID...assuming standard weapon? so 0.72 sec. 560% + 15*90% + ~12*1200% = 16310% vs pure CL = ~19*1200% = 22800%.
huge differences without even considering cap.
@GoXDS: Considering my mage will never even get close to hitting cap, ice demon having it's outrageously quick casting time, and the fact it's dot stacks with GC and Blizzard, it still has quite a lot of use in my combos.
@MuffinsINC well, once you get through 4th Job, Ice Demon loses it's worth really fast. the DoT is just not worth the reduced dmg (especially if you cap with it). GC is obviously something that a good I/L should be spamming (until CL starts to approach cap, too...which you then only GC for the DoT i.e. every 20 secs)

it seems you don't know much about an i/l either. from 4th job to the hell lvls, that is pretty much what we do for training/bossing. CL is suppose to be our main skill for attack. when reaching that last stretch from 19x-200, that is when we truly learn the extent of being a i/l. even after reaching 200, I plan to perfect my i/l, and i will admit, I have not reached that full extent on an i/l yet.
So wait, you're telling me you don't use glacier chain, ice demon, or blizzard to stack DoTs while bossing or training, and to add more variety to said activities?
HA, that's a laugh.
My personal favorite thing: all the little situational things that can make us better, and better, and better. So many things factor into our damage, be it the elemental weakness of an enemy, infinity, and arcane aim. Our damage has a lot of variety, and you can use the elements to your advantage.
My least favorite thing: It can be quite easy to zone out and turn into a robot while playing an I/L if you aren't careful. It can be very tedious at times, and if you don't slow down and pace yourself, you can overplay it and make yourself sick of the class quite easily. Even if you go out of your way to use all your skills, you can still suffer from the repetition.

I've been playing an I/L for 4 years, I think I know how to play one pretty well.
You said you only used CL which is why I said you don't know how to play an I/L. I know CL is an I/L's main skill, i'm not retarded. Every class has a main skill that they use more than others, but they still use other skills along with their main skill.
favorite: capability and potential of character.
least favorite: funding needed to be OP, gets pretty boring in 170+, all we do is spam CL....
If all you do is spam CL, you don't know how to play an I/L.
Welp guys. You won me. I've recently decided to chunk all these new classes and go old school. And, so far I'm loving it. Down with the fads. They did it right the first time.
Glacial Chains and Ice Demon are there for a reason guys.
Sounds like everyone agrees. lol

That alone makes me want to do it. I think I'm going to. Saying that, I would still like to hear more opinions. Just to get a flavor for it.
From all the way from 2nd job to 4th job, my favorite thing about I/L is just how versatile their mobbing capabilities are. Ice strike in 3rd job gives a large AoE attack. Glacier chain in 4th job deals large damage and can pull in 12 mobs at a time from very large distances (only downside is the 5 sec. cooldown ). Chain lightning is awesome, it can bounce from mob to mob so it could be a horizontal/vertical attack, damaging mobs in huge distances. Plus it has a 90% stun chance when maxed.
However with all that said, it can get extremely tedious and boring if you just spam 1 skill constantly like that, so be sure to use some of the other skills once in a while. Plus other classes can outdamage if not funded well enough. Overall I'm really enjoying this class
