v.157 - Shining Star Update Highlights

Nexon's releasing a holiday patch, with new stuff and good ol' Happyville. The details:

How bright does your Mapler shine? Find out in the Shining Star update! This new content update introduces Star Force, a new way to enhance your equips. Twenty-one classes are getting skill updates, and there are tons of new equips to find. If that weren't enough, explore new GMS-exclusive event dungeons and enjoy festive holiday events.
Star Force Enhancement
If you look up at the sky, you might see streaks of light arcing across the heavens. Fallen stars are landing all over Maple World and they're making monsters stronger and energizing your items. With the new Star Force enhancement system, you can pay a meso fee and upgrade equips that have completed their scroll enhancements. With this new enhancement system, players now have an alternative path towards acquiring gear enhancements, making it easier for them to upgrade their equips. The maximum enhancement level has been adjusted based on the level requirement of the item. Old items that have been enhanced past that limit will keep their old stars.
Skill Rebalances
Nearly all of MapleStory's classes are having some of their skills adjusted for balancing. Changes will vary and can be big or small. Whether it's changing a skill's cooldown time or increasing its damage, these tweaks will improve gameplay across the board. The number of Skill Points received for your 4th job is also being tweaked. From now on, all classes will only receive 255 SP within the 4th Job, and the master level on some skills will also be changed to reflect this. Ohgosh. Yay or nay?
New Equips
Say hello to more equips than you can shake a stick at! Choose from Lv. 110 Zakum's Poisonic weapons, Lv. 120 Eclectic armor, Lv. 120 Briser weapons, Lv. 120 Necromancer armor, Lv. 130 Royal Von Leon equips (weapons and armor), Lv. 130 Jaihin weapons, Lv. 130 Muspell armor, Lv. 140 Utgard weapons, or Lv. 140 Pensalir armor. Other new accessories such as the Lv. 100 Aquatic Letter Eye Accessory and Lv. 140 Golden Clover Belt have also been added. You can even get new types of set effects if you collect a whole set of armor! This is part of Nexon's efforts to listen to our players, and increase availability of better equipment by simply playing the game!
New Event Dungeons
Two new, GMS-exclusive dungeons are opening their doors. Visit Star World and assist the interstellar NPCs there. Earn Constellation Coins and exchange them for horoscope-themed chairs, medals, and more. Enter the Cosmos Laboratory--a giant pinball machine--to play Cosmos Knockout. Use cannons and jump platforms to defeat the boss and escape from the alien laboratory!
Holiday Events
It's the most wonderful time of the year! Happyville is back, and you can help Cliff prepare for the holiday party, decorate Christmas trees, and collect Rascal Snowpiece items to receive an awesome present! You can also get a free Christmas costume if you log in every day during the event period. Collect Nut Coins from various holiday quests and see what's available in the Nut Coin Shop. Even Cassandra has a special Christmas present for you!

Another revamp? o.o Well, I'll be checking it out tomorrow. I redownloaded Maple after more than a year and I'm back to see what's up. The new equips look interesting. My Shadower still runs around in level 70 equips.

I'm now unable to grind in the maps I like, I cant afford to spend meso's on some of my mules so I'll never get 55 stars to be able to hunt in Dead mine </3
Upgrading your equips with meso's is alright with me but please don't force me to use the stupid system just so I can train where I want.

One quick question, in the update it said SP acquisition for 4th job has been adjusted to 255 total SP.
You will get all of your SP for 4th job by Lv. 140 (255 SP). After Lv. 140 you will no longer gain 4th job SP.
So does that mean at lvl 140 i will have all the sp i would usually get by 200? Sorry haven't played for a very long time and just read this in the new update.
@LulzMudkipzz: Yeah, they got buffed this patch.
Freezing Crush: 8% damage increase for each Freeze stack with Lightning Attribute attacks.
Chain Lightning: Damage percent increased from 273 to 300.

WAIT, so basically I can pay mesos to enhance a tyrant to 15 stars?
I don't know how I feel about the skill re-balance. Last time they did a re-balancing when I was happy with my characters my Phantom got nerfed... Hard.
i better be getting more buffs for my shade -_-
Is star patch coming now?
The game is down for a long time.
Definitely gonna go for the constellation chairs and damage skin.
All of them look really pretty... except none of my main characters have the room to hold them, haha.
The Andromeda chair is untradeable, but they don't say anything about the individual constellations. Does anybody know?
I'm more excited for zeros coming back!
I dont know why they put more junk to the game.
Like new equipments, when everyone want/use just Cygnus, RA and Tyrant equips weapons...
Interstellar has more shining stars than this patch!

New stuff may cause the price of old stuff to drop, though. My Shadower's still using a crummy 122 ATT GDK. I couldn't afford anything better last time I played.

Well i think i may be able to at least upgrade some of my none main char gear now at least some (i have less then 150m and not getting anymore unless i somehow get given it)
140 is now sorta my goal to get all my chars to so i have max 4th job on all of them and 140 isn't that bad to do on most (some is zzzzzzzz)
New ger looks like it will suck more then the stuff we have so... who cares + you most likely wont be able to get it easy
Hope they fix some skill bugs on jett/BT/phantom/?
Good thing I haven't played for months, so my Paladin don't seem that weak after this...
Does anyone know if demon avengers get skill updates or no?
Will the dps chart look the same or do any clauses jump up?

but 140 is when hyper skills start.
Would it be too much to ask for them to include some tweaks to Hayato and Kanna in this "revamp"... I mean they at least kinda tried to help those two in JMS.

Yes, you're the only person.
@SavageHero48: Not really, its actually incredibly easy to get 6 stars on all of your equips, no chance to boom or downgrade for regular equipment. If you do that for every equip you can have 60ish stars with no risk for under 50-60mil. That should be enough stars to do normal damage on all monsters in the star force maps
And does anyone know if Zeros get all of their SP by level 140 as well? I feel like they would but I just want a confirmation
Now that SP ends at 140... I'll kinda lose motivation to level after that

I'm glad I wasn't able to log in yesterday, or I'd have had to reassign my SP twice within one week. Happy they're releasing more equipment. Things kinda... [i]stopped[/i] around level 120 for me.
Get ready for an extended update time or whatever like every update they do xD. I want the nx transfer so bad tho
