Such a shame NexonSuch a shame

Nexon, such a shame Maplestory is dying, it's true. I started since the 2006, and it was a great game, the only thing I do related to Maplestory now is listening the bgms like ToT, Ellinia, and Slime Tree.

There's nothing uprising about Maplestory.
The December 2013 spike was the RED update, people all thought Maplestory would get better, but they realized it didn't, and just left.
All the Spikes were Major Updates that people believed would revive Maplestory, and bring back the social and fun game they once had, but a spike is a spike, in the end it drooped the game ever lower. As you can all see, the general trend is that Maplestory is dying, along with all the sites with it.
I log on to a huge update, have fun with the new events for a few days, then realize it's the same as ever, extremely boring. It's nowhere near how it used to be.
A real shame Nexon...taking it from Wizet was a shame...
The only thing good about maplestory...Is the bgm now.

I have to agree. The game just isn't fun anymore and has lost most of its charm. I was actually one of those people that thought the RED update would revive the game. However, it is now obvious that even a big over hyped update can't save it.

Not this again. I hate the logic of "Nexon is making this game unsocial and not fun cuz people don't hang out like they used to."
Honestly, I think the only valid reasons to hate Nexon is because they remade some training spots/it's easier to level, and that they don't have very good customer service (I wouldn't know but I've heard a lot of complaints about it).
Just because they remove some training spots and popular hangout spots, it doesn't mean Maplestory isn't fun, and I don't see how else they don't allow you to hang out and have fun. I know it's not the same; I remember training in Henesys hunting grounds, which was very popular. But all you have to do is find some people to befriend and hang out with them somewhere. It's simple as that.
Perm NX events, lots of overpowered event equips and scrolls, Perm Mounts and Pets, and easy training does not make your experience any worse.

Pretty sure it's the communities that changed. I mean even though a lot has happened, really, you only liked it before because you had friends.

If people want Maple to be more social, they should stop trying to solo everything and hit 200 in a week, and actually talk to people other than using them for scamming targets or skill mules.

If you want to rant, I'll rant too
Honestly, if youre stupid enough to think that players don't know maple is dying, then you might aswell not be on this planet lool... Everybody knows maple is going downhill slightly, and we don't need the 3-5 walls of useless text that barely even get to be considered threads every day. Its almost like you people try to force info into our ears until our brain bleeds. You honestly don't even know what a free game is. Its a free game, and you should be appreciated it. But instead, you're gonna complain about how its not good anymore and how its declining. If you don't like it, then leave the game. Just quit. You really thing that us basilers are gonna sit here like "No! Don't quit! It'll get better and I want you to stay!" Because honestly, were not. Nobody wants to hear your "poop" about how the game is declining. Honestly, nexon is doing a pretty decent job imo. Besides the difficult start when it comes to making money, there aren't too many problems. I used to think it was all pay2win, but with the recent events and changes such as how to get cubes and the prots and all, I'm starting to see their slow change. Honestly, the pay2win hasn't even effected me that much. I used to have a 30k range on my jett. I made a DA, and within about a month or two, he was at a 80k range. I made a pally, and within 2 months of merching and abusing events, I've pulled him up to a 200k(soon to be 250k) range. You just have to know how to play the game and how to suck up your complaining. Anyways, I'm starting to ramble. Every game starts to decline. Look at runescape. Runescape was huge... and I mean HUGGGEE. But look how small its declined to right now. Every game has their high points, and their low points. Your complaining all day isn't going to do anything about it. You really think that somebody from nexon is looking at this thread right now and saying "Hmm, this thread changed my entire view! Let me spend weeks trying to convince the owners of nexon to change their game completely because this random complaining person says so!" If you do, you're some 7 year old who needs a reality check.
Just because you don't like whats going on, doesn't mean you have to ruin everybody else's time. I believe thats what they call a party pooper. If this website didn't have language restrictions, I probably wouldn't written much worse than this rant, but I respect that there are some younger people on here and I must hold back my language.
Also, you people act like youre the only ones thats played in big bang. News flash: YOURE NOT. Probably atleast a 4th of the current population has played prebb and has experienced the same thing as you. I bet you if they changed the game back to bb tomorrow and sent everybody to level 1, there would be such a huge wave of complaining about leveling that your head would explode. All it would be is you complaining about how things are so difficult and the game isn't fun anymore, and youre not getting your moneys worth, even though its a free game.

TL;DR: Stop complaining, its a free game. Nobody wants you here, so just quit maple.

Come to Bera, play the game I once played, and you'll understand. Bera is SUPPOSED to be the 3rd most popular server after Windia and Scania... What happened?

Just because people don't look it up on google doesnt mean its gonna be dead any time soon. Think about it, the majority of the players that are playing don't google "maplestory" on a daily basis. If they need to get to the website, they know the website name. If they need a guide or have a question, they go to basil. If they need info about the game, they go to hidden street.

lol, what events did we even have back in the day? Hah, it was challenging and bla, bla, bla, the same thing we always say, but events weren't anything special at all. Nexon have released tons of content, I think no one can object that, that was the most attractive thing for me when I came back. Events per se, as of now, kind of dull, yes. But Craftable cubes, Zero (that was GREAT imo), and the huge class revamps, if you didn't enjoy any of that one bit, then yes, just quit, your time has come, don't let the door hit your other face in the way out.

Ra is deflating, Tyrants deflated and capes will even further, empress is dirt cheap, you didn't stand a chance to get that stuff so easily before. Or well, I didn't at least. I won't become godly without effort (or money), but at least now I can go I try out some decent bosses, I find that fun.

Problem is that you, like the other same old commentators, are pretty much akin to middle aged men sitting on a porch drinking beer and complaining about life. It's annoying. It's like secretly you guys want the game to crash and burn. I swear for months there's been a huge influx of "maple is dying" threads as if you're some sort of Archimedes who feels they've happened upon some important discovery. STOP. GO AWAY. Even if we disregard everything I've said, your statement is still fallible. People have expressed your opinion countless times already so why restate a stated opinion? Waste of time thread is a waste.

i agree, even if its not as populated as scania, bera was doing pretty well a few years back
now its so empty here even in henesys and so is the fm

@pokemon1188: Because you lost interest, there are plenty of people out there that want to play a game like this. Maplestory just isn't promoting itself enough. Come to a ore populated server, such as Scania. Its still alive and pumping pretty well. Practically all fm's are slammed full of stores, all except for like fm22... Its the only one that's empty... idk why its really strange.

It's dying because people like you don't appreciate Nexon trying to do new things.
"The December 2013 spike was the RED update, people all thought Maplestory would get better, but they realized it didn't, and just left." You're joking right? It made it hell of a lot easier. Items that were once 1b+ are now 50m+, and items they were once 50m are now 1m+ People just lost interest, and less people have joined. i believe its do to the advertisement, they aren't advertising enough.
You're just restating why people realized it didn't get better and left, this game downright sucks now, boring, FM1 is empty. No offencer to Believers, I have tried to rejoin the game many times...Couldn't do it.

nexon didn't take it from wizet. Wizet is the developer while Nexon is the publisher, you can't have one without the other. Well i guess you could but then you'd either be publishing nothing, or having a developed game that literally no one plays.

oh and for anyone preparing to say "no one plays it right now", my response will be "shut up you fool".
