Do you regret spending money on this game?

Before July 2013, I have spent around $700 on this game. Every little bit of NX I regret spending. Sure I got lucky with cubes and good discounts, but after all they were never worth it. This game always seemed to have new "standard" things taking over, thus forcing players to spend money getting them.

I somewhat regret it, because over time the stuff that I bought has become worthless, I remember paying a of for a 15ATT WG and now they are practically free. The same with potentials, now everybody has legendary items.

Also, expiring CS Items.

@Dengy: You gave me that example in the first place. No need to defend yourself if you're off by a bit. Just calm down. Basil needs to really improve on people's behaviours. You do realize my example is based exactly off yours right?

nope, for me, it was better to spend couple thousand and have fun rather than losing tens of thousands on gambling at casinos.

@Dengy: This is my thread so I get to post it. For instance, if a bar owner gave advice to this drunk customer to stop overdrinking, then it's just an opinion not really educating people. Anyways, if you have trouble knowing the difference between a suggestion and an educational post then just stop posting.

@pikalachu: Also don't take this as if I disagreed completely on your opinion. I was just wanted you to share some advice on "control" that's all.
$2000 you could really get a lot of decent things. You don't get my point eh? Colleges are more "hands on" compared to universities. It's really up to you but we all got opinions.

I mean just think about it maybe. Would you really take all that labour and reward yourself with Maplestory or simply save it up for better things in life? Not trying to act like a parent or anything but that's just my 2 cents.
i do apreciate your opinion on this.
but do not worry about it, with the kind of money i make, i can manage both.
you just have to know your priority, of course my real life needs will take over my maple life needs.
i think i am mature enough how to spend my money.

Again, thank you for your comment.

@Dengy: Giving advice isn't really educating people. You do know that right? If you disagree then feel free to post. But you should really read the second last sentence.

@Dengy: Did you read the entire post? If not then, what I said was "just my 2 cents"? What part of making an opinion don't you get?
The way I see it is this: I've spent $125 over the last five and a half years on Maplestory. If this game had a monthly subscription, that would equate to me paying less than $2 a month. Do I regret paying so little for a game that's kept me entertained for all these years, even with all of the ups and downs it had? Of course not.

And towards your argument of the standard always rising, that applies to plenty of things in real life. TVs, computers, cell phones, etc., lots of things get replaced by newer models quite frequently. Doesn't mean what you have now is no longer good, just that there's something a little better or more flashy.
That's because those type of things are more dynamic than Maplestory. Maplestory is just 1 game. On the other hand, TVs, computers and other electronics can last longer than an Empress item. Well items are perma in Maple but the usefulness goes down much easily than the other electronics.

Well I'm glad you spend less on this game.

@Zephorax: I said I "spent less" NX than what most other good DBs would've said.

@HastyHeist: I was reading a lot of posts my bad.

i keep a stack of NX cards/Ultimate game cards/Karma koins to remind myself of the folly of spending real money on a virtual game

I actually just came back about three weeks ago roughly, and I've dropped over a thousand dollars since then, but no I don't regret it because I'm strong as hell since I'm being smart with the way I spend it. Now my gears are worth more than I spent and I like to look at MS as investing in an amusement park. I get lots of fun out of it with access to everything and at the same time I make money off the investment.

I have quoted you not because of this mainly but also because I really have something to respond.
I barely bought any NX, but I don't regret any of it.

Well Nexon doesn't seem to be a company that would be worth spending NX to anymore you know. It used to be worth it to get the looks and stuff but now it gets replaced easily. I'm glad you have some self control at least.

@xtripled: The entertainment isn't worth the cost IMO.

@wammie32: I heard Nexon is going to implement that.

@HastyHeist: Not worth it to pay that much for Maplestory.

@XFactor: If you spend more it will be worse trust me.

@xoxoSakura: How much did you spend anyways? Also, do you remember me? We used to be in Windia.

@pikalachu: Wow that's shocking. Why don't you feel any regrets about it? I mean the money could be useful for future tuitions.

@mrspike188: That's good self control but once you sum this all up, it may seem like you wasted it after all, trust me.

@NotMyGear: How much did you spend anyways?

i don't regret it cause i never spent any
k that's a lie

In all honesty, i don't regret it at all. I got my entertainment from it and i enjoyed the results of my expenditure so i'm fine with my spending. Although it helps that i've made back 3x what i've spent from playing ms but yeah no regrets

spending money on nx is basically the same as buying a ticket to the movies, except you get more out of the nx in terms of length of use
you're paying for entertainment
