Not enough Godzilla in it.
Elizabeth Olson though, mm

OMG, hahahaha that is true! Although I felt like Godzilla was the Dark Knight of Godzillas in this movie. He is the kaiju we deserve, but not the one we need. The Dark Knight lol. Still pretty cool.
"M.U.T.O. ft. Godzilla" should have been the title of the movie.
Yeah I agree with everyone. There was a more focus on the human side, but oh god those fight scenes were GORGEOUS. Love the end fight XD
So it was more human focused than Godzilla focus? Like a bunch of remakes(Or w.e this is) that end up focusing on the wrong thing compared to the original?
Definitely focused more on the human side of the story.
The Godzilla part of the movie was quite lovely in my opinion. However, the actors and their storyline were unnecessarily cheesy. Also, the Olsen twins' sister? Why would you even D:
As a long time fan, I kinda wish they'd bring in the older monsters (Rodan, King Ghidorah, Mothra, MechaGodzilla, etc.).
My brother and I are huge Godzilla fans with hundreds of dollars of merchandise (thousands maybe?) and we both thought it was great. Seeing it again on Wednesday.
When you reboot something in this way, you can guarantee it will create a huge divide in the fanbase. From what I can tell the reactions to the movie are really polarized; people either loved it or hated it.
Anyone who's considering seeing this film, go for it. You might like it, you might not, but you won't know just by calling someone else's opinion your own.
Needed more fights though.
Haven't seen the movie yet but man what is up with all of these pulpy/cheesy IPs being remade as movies that play the ideas completely straight? Comic book adaptations, 80s remakes, and now Godzilla? The series that included poignant and philosophically challenging scenes such as this?
idk I just don't get why modern blockbusters can't have camp appeal
thanks for the spoiler
it happens like 20 minutes in and sadly it's barely even relevant to the plot so i didn't see the point in trying to conceal it
this movie is not worth your time or money y'all it is special effects and purple prose dressed up as a hollywood blockbuster
it was so boring
as soon as bryan cranston died my interest in the human plotline basically took a nosedive and the rest of the story was just insipid. i did not care about any of the people at all and there was far too little monster fight compared to ~forced human emotion-centric plot~
It was okay. It was not "totally awesome". It was good yeah, but nothing more than that.
As a stand alone movie it would have been amazing but knowing that godzilla is a deady monster made from a nuclear bomb made the new backstory suck
it was good and fun
but the actors made it not so fun and not so good. not necessarily because the acting crew was poor, but just too serious
it was okay, i was dragged to go see it by my brother because he said bryan cranston was in it (yea okay, great marketing technique btw). it was really slow for like the first 2 hours but the last 30 min or so it was pretty damn satisfying.
