if you're 100% confident you'll win, then go for it. If you do it outside of school, you might not get caught, but even so, it'll only be like 3 days. You can even say you were trying to defend yourself.

longest i've been suspended for was 3 days. it would have been longer if i didn't go to detention. just fight him and make sure to win. or fight in the bathroom. dont even think about doing it for defense. think about doing it because of that which he has caused you over the years. us elbows and make sure to hurt him real bad when you make him hit the ground disregard all the yelling to let him up. my hs had a 0 tolerance too. but it doesn't change the fact bullies exist. you can always shove him to a wall and choke him while yelling and spitting in his face to leave you alone.
Make an offer to go somewhere that it would be allowed. Some type of near by boxing ring or something so its just 1 on 1. You should also make sure your school doesn't have a zero tolerance policy of some sort. My highschool had one of those and it included that if you were in any sort of fight you got suspended and a ticket. Yep. If you got the **** beaten out of you, you got suspended and a ticket.
Edit: also what @above said. Anyone who is not intelligent enough, you will never see again. I had many people that didn't get a long with during high school but once we got to college if I saw anyone that I hadn't gotten along with the extent of our conversation was "Sup man". If it isn't keeping you up at night, don't go for it.

Ignore him he's but a speck of dust in your life, And if you HAVE to fight him just make sure it's just you and him. Wouldn't want you getting jumped.
